Las Vegas Summer League Game Thread: July 11th - Utah Jazz vs. Miami Heat 7:30 PM PST

Trey Lyles better become one of the most crafty smart players in the league, because his athleticism isn't wowing anyone.

First thought was bust. Then I've tried to warm up to it. But I'm not feeling good about it again.

Tell me again why drafting a power forward would can't rebound or play defense because he's limited, is a good idea.

He could still be alright, but he doesn't have a lot of upside.

I think if I'm drafting, I would swing for the fences more often than not. It's a lot harder to obtain stars than it is to obtain decent players. You can pretty much just pick them up in free agency whenever you want.

Love it when people chime in about "limited upside!!!!" for a freaking 19 year old. We have one of the best player development coaches in the business. How about we give him a year or two to see what he can do with a 19 year old. Quinn was in on the decision to draft him. There must be something there. . .

Lyles's shortcomings on offense don't concern me at this stage.

That "defense" though, hoo boy.
