I'd like to see Lyles lower his shoulder and push his way into the paint.

He did twice.

He got fouled once and went to FT line and he lost the ball for a TO the other time.

What bothers me most is he doesn't even try to make the defensive plays around the rim. He will get us ZERO rim protection. None! He also seems to play short in offense in the paint... I think he will have problems against length.

And as I said that - he starts the second half with a great move off the bounce + draws the foul...

I predict many a thread questioning Lyles' motor in the future.

The dude works on the offensive side pretty hard... Just hasn't given a **** if his man wants to shoot.

Not a physical presence in the paint defensively
not a shot blocker
Not finishing well around the hoop

The kid has some talent. But needs to get tough and aggressive like Gobert on the boards. I can live with the lack of shot blocking but needs to be a presence in the paint to at least redirect drivers. Offensively I am okay with him as long as that jumper gets more consistent. Having a big who can pass is really important.
