Hanlan won't make the roster and we know that. You can send him overseas or drop him into the DL, but the knock on him is that he's already 22 years old. Not old by any means, but I would have hoped he'd have shown a bit more vs. guys that are 2-3 years his junior.
Nothing the FO does is by chance so my guess is that they think he can be a competent scorer off the bench and will truly evalulate him during training camp when matched against our other guards. If he doesn't pan out and we simply have to cut him, keep yourself grounded in the fact they're we're talking about the #42 overall pick of the second round. Take additional comfort in the fact that you can gamble on guys like this when you have four #2's in 2016 and four #2's in 2017. Are all of those eight potential picks going to make the roster? Of course not so don't be disheartened when they don't.
