I know he could be sent overseas and not counted but the Nuggs did that with a draft pick a couple of years ago that was from Puerto Rico and the Pelicans did it with Pierre Jackson a couple of years ago.

Me too, that's what I thought when I read the thread -- get rid of him. Gee, the guy has been underwhelming and that's an understatement. He has shown absolutely nothing but air balls and consistently bad play. His resume suggested otherwise. What is his problem?

Not to just add to the Hanlan bashing, but why on Earth did we draft him if we fully intended to bring Neto over within weeks of doing so? We should have just made our first pick and gotten future assets for 42 and 54. We simply have no room for the dude.

Draft and stash. Just like we did with Neto. Let him get some experience over seas. He is from Canada so we get to keep his rights. Isn't that what we were looking for in the second round? Guys that we can keep there rights but that we don't have to sign to a contract right now?

They have both been playing really well in the D-League so far and making for competition in the locker room for minutes on their respective teams. I figure that if you are drafting at #42 you are looking to grab a player with specific 'nba skills' (like rebounding in the case of Millsap) OR you are trying to pick up a player who can create competition at a spot. Joseph Young and Andrew Harrison may have been no-goes because we have Bryce Cotton (similar to Joseph Young) and Neto (a point guard from a previous draft) both in camp. If so, why grab a 6th point. That would be good thinking if we didn't sign a 6th Ham-balaya. But really since we were going for a combo guard, early signs show that Mighty Joe Young may have been the better choice here.

To me what makes this pick so disappointing is that Kyle Korver, Mo Williams, Boozer, Okur and Paul Millsap were drafted in the 2nd round. Maybe the guy will get his stuff together by training camp but I kind of doubt it.

pretty sure we can't send him overseas unless he agrees. but if wanted to stay and play in the NBA (and plenty of teams apparently liked him) and we don't offer him a contract (or don't have the roster space to offer him one) he would be free to sign anywhere.
