We know precisely what trade value TB had on draft day --- he was traded on draft day for two firsts. If you are using the 2015 draft to gauge TB's draft day trade value, very weak analogy.

In 2013 it took two picks to move up to #9
In 2015 six picks (four firsts?) were refused for #10
We are trying to determine what Trey's trade value is right now. It was my point that he had no idea what his value is because he was not traded on draft day. All we know is that his value was not enough to move up. Which like you pointed out was a super high price. So Trey could have tons of value (I doubt it) but not enough for a draft day trade.

Burke's salary is so low that these trade Burke threads are kinda embarrassing. Why not root for the guy instead?

We can't do both? I want him to succeed if he stays but because I don't think he beats out Exum I also think it may be a good idea to trade him.

I think Neto's pass 1st guard play will work better with Burks,Ingles,Lyles and Pleiss than Trey Burke running the point.

Adding Lillard to our current group would make us instant contenders. 60 wins would be within reach.

Lillard is among the worse defensive PGs in the league-- at least we get attempts at defensive effort from Burke.

I'm kind of excited that most of Jazzfanz says 'keep him'. Really think this is the make or break year for Burke. Jury still isn't out!!

The big question is can he accept a change in mentality and role and accept the fact that as he currently is there is no way he's a starting NBA point guard.

Might as well trade him for nothing if you get back Embiid. He's going to miss a 2nd season. And reports were that he was fat and slow now, If he's not I'd consider it though.
.
If you can get a late first out of Burke I think you take it. He's unlikely to ever have more value than that as a backup PG for Utah. If it's a 2nd just play it out and see if he improves. If he sucks or becomes a problem you can probably always get a 2nd for him. If he becomes a real problem just release him.

The odds that Joel Embiid is great are better than that of some (and very unlikely to get) late 1st-rounder becoming great. Or certainly a random second-rounder.

My gut says Burke deserves the chance to see the floor in the jersey again and that his value probably isn't high enough that you can get back a piece you can be confident becomes a worthy roster spot. If he keeps playing the way he has, the Jazz aren't out much of an opportunity on the market. It favors the Jazz to see this through given the gambling math here.

I sure hope the guy I saw in 2013 shows up though.

I'm not going to argue that with you, because you are probably right about Embiid. I was never that high on him to begin with, I thought he had bust written all over him, now he's had 2 missed years due to injury. His rookie contract is going to be half over before he ever see's the floor then he'll take time to recover then he may have 1 year to show what he's worth. You also have motivation concerns and weight concerns on top of it. If the motivation and weight concerns prove to be made up rumors it may be worth the chance. If not I think that is just too much baggage for him to have any worth.
