What's new

Donald Trump

Why did you allow them to go through your personal property? Seriously.

Never consent to a search. Never. If they have reasonable suspicion they can get a warrant or they can search without consent. There is no reason to EVER consent to a search.

I was like 14 at time bro.

No way the Boomers don't get what they want. They have always gotten what they want when they want it. It's the generation that protested Vietnam because they would have to fight and then sent their sons to Iraq. It's the generation that cut taxes when they were working and now want to raise them to pay for their retirement. A generation whose parents gave them everything but they barely parented children who would grow up to cause one of the worst crime waves in American history. The icing on the cake is that they take credit for a civil rights movement that they were too young to participate in. Boomers are unbelievably nihilistic. I wish they would all get dementia already so we could move on.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to ♪alt13 again.

I have to concede all these points. I'm a boomer, but I never voted or liked any of these. I'm not counting on Social Security and any welfare, even stuff I got minimal payroll deductions on. Wish I had that money, and had made good use of it.

But I'm still pretty fascinated with how great I am.

I hate to even give this man the legitimacy of a thread in the General Discussion Forum of Jazzfanz, but the dumb *** is leading in the polls.

Please say it ain't so.

This person can not be attractive to breathing, feeling human beings.

Please?

Don't kill my and John Stewart's buzz bro.

The scarier to me is that the extreme left, more often than not, is representative of the left as whole moreso than the extreme right.

That's debatable.

You hear and see the extreme left but how has the country gone over the last 20 years? Obama(Hillary)care was a rightist idea in the early 90's. Clinton all but dismantled the welfare state (yet the far right still whines). Unions have been obliterated, and have been shaking hands- slash-bending-over for business for 20 years. Minimum wage hasn't been raised to an equal level in ages. We've added a gazillion cars to our roads but cannot increase the gas tax in ever increasing efficient vehicles to compensate....

The far left are crybabies on the highest order of magnitude, but there message does have merit. The far right has won so many battles the last 20 years while crying like absolute babies to ever minor concession they've given, which isn't much at all seeing how their proposals 20 years ago are now the things they are fighting against.

Yeah I know I'm painting with a broad brush. I realize that not every boomer is a self serving piece of **** but as a generation I can't help but see it that way.

As for making good use of that money you did, imo. There were plenty of services provided to you that you otherwise would have had to pay for. As for not getting SSI and welfare I see the opposite happening. SSI and welfare for the elderly will expand, even if it is at the expense of education, infrastructure, and the working poor that has become the new middle class. Politicians know what boomers want and that is what they will give them.

It probably would make his life a whole lot easier. A half hour is nothing. **** might've turned into 8 hours the other away.

Probably not...They actually need reasonable suspicion to search without consent.

The inland boarder patrol is looking for property seizures to fund their expanding budgets. They have a few things they look for and ask anyone who fits their criteria if they can search their stuff (they look for direction of travel and vehicle type, condition primarily. Then they ask where you're headed, how you got the vehicle, etc). They're just out fishing. If you don't answer their questions that are none of their business and refuse to consent to a search they'll huff and puff and eventually cast their bait at a more cooperative target.

Depends on the cop.

Really if a cop wants to search your vehicle they will.

"You were swerving in your lane, please step out of the vehicle so we can perform a field sobriety test." "While we're at it we need to search your vehicle for weapons to ensure our safety."

^Object all you want, this is legal.

I don't disagree that they can search without your consent under certain circumstances (the example you provide is not legit and does not constitute a reason to search without consent). I also understand if they really really want to they will find a reason. So again, there is never a reason to consent to a search.

If you do not consent you have a much greater chance of having any potential evidence dismissed. If they are searching for illegal aliens and they find an eighth of weed in your glove box they will seize it and charge you...and then your lawyer will have those charges dismissed by the end of the day. That is, of course, unless you consent. Then you're ****ed.

Doesn't matter if it's not legit. It's their word vs. yours.

I agree I would never consent.

The example I gave is legit. I've been searched on those grounds at 10 in the morning on my way to a funeral.(Utah ****ing county) My cousin is an assistant DA. I asked her about it. She said that while it is ridiculous the cop was within the law. Had he found anything(he didn't) or had I been impaired(I wasn't) it only would have served to vindicate his suspicion. People very rarely win the illegal search and seizure argument when it comes to vehicles.

Another favorite is "I smell marijuana".

Don't you anti-Trumps find things like Glenn Beck banning talk of Trump from his radio show, or the big bad Koch brothers freezing Trump out completely to be appealing? Kind of like....hey....if those guys I hate....hate Trump.....then maybe there's something likeable there that I'm missing? Maybe I'll keep paying attention even if my favorite rags are telling me that he belongs in the entertainment section, and not the political one or whatever? I don't know, that's just how my brain works. That's how I finally starting looking into Ron Paul in '06ish. Had heard for years and years how crazy he was....and kind of just went along with it. Then I had a professor that I thought was a clown that absolutely hated Ron Paul......so I'm like.....you know what I better look into this guy. See what he's all about. Read his stuff..... loved him. Seemed like the most sane politician I had come across up until that point.

I don't listen to anything Beck says literally. I didn't even know he said that.

As for Koch it is because they don't own him. But that doesn't mean he isn't beholden to anyone.

Trump is loud and brash. Speaks hoenstly and doesn't couch his answers. But like all other politicians he isn't really saying how he will accomplish anything...

I agree. I definitely don't think he's as independent of influence as he tries to portray via the self-financing campaign or whatever he likes to trumpet. But how much and who? I don't know yet. Depth will follow in time....well....as much as it typically does or doesn't during a election cycle. I just wouldn't tune him out totally yet were I already against him and seeing what public figures were as well. I'd be like....wait a minute.....this process is just getting going and these conservative big wig nuts that I hate... hate him? I'm watching this dude with Eagle eyes.

In reality, he's The Apprentice right now basically. People have been seeing him publicly for decades, but that show was still running...maybe even earlier this year....last year maybe. I bet 90% of people are basing everything about him off that one show and a couple sound bites(the immigration one mainly). He does have a couple older political books(one from 2011) out there though that I'm sure most public libraries have. And a couple of his business books are classics. There's some depth to be found. Ghostwritten depth obviously, but hey, he rubber stamped them for public consumption....... and I've read a couple.....and they sound exactly like his public persona.

^^^^ And Opinion America just called me to ask about the election as I was typing that. Go figure.

You clearly know nothing about British racial politics if you're arguing for a man who lost his own parliamentary seat in an election of a party he was leading.).

Nigel Farage never had that seat to lose. He failed to gain it for his party, but never had it himself.
