Exum Injured

How long is the recovery for mcl? Acl?

It looks to me that he tried to force his body into a jump stop...fadeaway to the left. It put some serious torque on his knee to jump and change momentum. I will jump to the conclusion that it was is inexperience driving and finishing in the lane but wanting to show people he can drive and finish that led to the injury.

MCL is like 2 months?

ACL is like 8 months?

No it's impossible to know. If it was possible, then nobody would ever get injured.

It is possible to know if someone is more injury prone than others by studying the way the body is structured, of course it is. But again it's too early, we'll see... I hope that it's minor, he recovers quick and that it's all forgotten in the near future.

Also ****ty that whenever Dante seems to drive, something bad happens. The dude is just getting unlucky. If this goes down as a serious injury, can we kiss away any hope of ever seeing a truly aggressive Dante?

Ask Philly's medical staff how's life. It might have sounded like I'm over-reacting, I hope I am.

Not sure what this is suppose to imply. You want the Jazz to just hold Dante out for 2 straights years so he won't get hurt ever?

8 months would get him back in time for that playoff run.

Or to play summer league alongside yet another lottery pick.

There are factors that increase risk of injury, like body weight. But it impossible to look at someone who doesn't have an injury history, and go "you know what, his leg thinness makes him 15% more likely to get injured over the next year". Those are highly paid professionals working for billion dollar businesses. It's not like they're just too dumb to figure out what you so easily have. Dante is thin, quick, and doesn't have a history of injuries. He's also extremely timid and contact averse. I can't think of a player who has a LOWER risk of injury! But there is a risk with every player, and injuries will always be an inevitable part of sports.

Hopefully it's nothing too bad, but if he is side lined out for a while what do you guys want the jazz to do? Stick with trey, neto, and cotton? Or trade for a vet pg?

Exum doesn't have a history, period. The odds he would be ready before the Hayward and Favors contracts ran out (never mind Rudy's inevitable payday) were already long. If he ripped up his knee those odds have become immeasurably long.

Time for Lindsey to find a good vet PG and move this rebuild forward.

Damn... why does this have to happen now, things starting to get good for us.

I would say trade one or some of our assets for an up and coming PG who's on the out somewhere... may be somebody like Darren Collison? Rondo is joining the Kings so they may be wanting to unload him? Wouldn't mind Elfrid Payton neither.

We could have gone after Ty Lawson but it's too late now.

Okay.

We're not getting Payton. Lol.

And Lawson has stated he hates utah.

I wanted a vet pg even when dante was healthy.
I was down with trading for lawson.... That is how bad I wish the jazz could get a real pg.

Point guard will most likely be what holds the jazz back this year.... Even if Exum were healthy

A bit of cycling goes miles for strengthening the muscles around your knee. The way he got injured is a very common move in basketball. I'm just on a rant, I had high hopes for the kid.
