Following 2016 potential draftees

Going back to the '13 draft thread I have been calling this '16 class weak. I will stand by that.
I have been calling '17 quite an epic class. I will stand by that as well.

Having said that, check out Jamal Murray, Malik Newman, Brandon Ingram for starters.

Thank you. Heard of Murray & Newman but not too familiar with Ingram, will check them out. As far as the 2017 draft class, obviously it's too early to say, but in your opinion how does it stack up to the Wiggins/Parker class (pre-NBA performance) in terms of hype? Also, is there a potential Wiggins caliber prospect in that class, & if so, who?

Have to run for a lunch appt. will reply later.

Lot of '16 prospects are already older than the youngest kids drafted this summer.
Will be interesting to see how that affects their stock and performance.

I didn't get much (not even worth sharing).
What I heard was simply many comments from non-UK guys raving about what a great kid Lyles is.
Cal asked them all as a group how they feel about the situations they're in and Towns, Lyles, and Booker all raved about the teams their on.

What this means is that WCS, the Harrison's and Dakari aren't too impressed.

Arent the Kings infamous for hazing their rookies pretty badly? Probably why WCS isn't too excited.

I am liking that kid from Kansas sviatoslav or something like that and I won't even try to spell his last name. this year I want a pure shooter for the jazz.

Edrice "Bam" Adebeyo and he's legit, a fringe lottery talent, possibly higher, and new UK target. Plays like a quicker, more explosive version of Cliff Alexander (He's got much better feet). that approach in the link is picturesque.

Interesting that Peeks still likes 2017 more than 2016, even after the emergence of what looks to be a blue-chip prospect in Wenyen Gabriel.. I agree though, despite many respected names saying 2016 looks like the most talented crop they've seen.

These drafts are both going to be loaded, because there's also International talent born in similar years. I've been watching this Euro U18 championship. French team member Frank Ntilikina seriously looks like a lottery pick, he's like a rich mans version of Devin Harris... I think he's a better prospect than Frank Jackson. Ntilikina appears to have a 7' wingspan at 6'4", he plays smart, instinctual and relatively mistake free. I'm not sure about his FT shooting, but from what I saw his 3pt shot looks much better than advertised.

The top-20 in 2017 will end up crazy strong, no doubt, there's many legit big's involved(Ayton, Bamba, Carter, Wiley, Nick Richards, Zach Brown, Obiagu), also the crop of SG/SF's looks very promising(Michael Porter> Josh Jackson IMO). And Trevon Duval does infact look better than the much ballyhoo'd 2016 PG's, I'm pretty sure Duval is can't miss.

Back to 2016 though, Wenyen Gabriel looks absolutely out of this world, I wanted to stop by and bring that up. I think he's at-least on par with Miles Bridges and Jonathan Isaac, I suspect he's a lottery or top-10 pick. Put him on a loaded team and he's gonna shine even brighter IMO. I actually think he's got a decent chance to end up as the top Wing from this class, even over Josh Jackson..

Gabriel is the type of PF you can put at SF, he's got the ballskills, shooting and the athleticism in spades. He runs the floor like a truely elite athlete for that size, crazy long strides, He shows great balance body control and timing on boards and blocks, He will cause all sorts of mismatches anywhere on the court. PKM - please tell me it's not a foregone conclusion he's going to Duke. He looks like the goods.

Peeks I also have to ask about this 7'5" Italian player coach Cal was talking about.. Is that real? Can you identify him? or is that Coach Cal talking about Isaac Humphries without being able to talk about Isaac Humphries?

Whats the word on Humphries anyways? always liked his game since he dropped 41 19 and 5 blocks in 30 minutes during a loss to a Jamal Murray led Canadian team. Is he closer to 6'10½" 6'11" or 7' ?? He'd be too young to be one and done for the 2016 draft correct??

Also on that note seems like The Nigerian Nightmare, Udoka Azuibuke c/o 2016 is born in late '99(31 months after Josh Jackson..) He's younger than many in the HS classes of '17 and '18 [Bagley]?!? which would make him too young to go one and done in the 2017 draft.

the 1 and done rule is so stupid, more than ever I believe its infact a diversion. I believe in-part the rule is in place to buy the domestic players more time to catch up with the international ones... So many old *** players lying in weight in these classes, its a joke. 20 year old freshman playing in march madness is the result, not teams having less of a chance to pick a bust.

"Bam" (Adebayo) is very good. Will end up at NC State.
Gabriel i have pegged for Duke.
When I refer to '17 I'm referring to the '16 college class/'17 draft.
Humphries is trying to reclassify and has quite a bit of work to do. I don't know that we see him as major contributor this coming year and I believe you're right he would have to stay two years... But I've heard conflicting accounts on that. I think he's legit 7'.
The 7'5 Italian is a monster. Get this... He turned 15 years old two weeks ago.
I think it is Robert Bobroczky from Romania, and currently trains with amateur club Stella Azzura Rome in the Italian capital, the same team that produced big man Andrea Bargnani.

Just saw that Gabriel is old for the class, seems most of the top SF's that year are. He's sure to wreck havoc wherever he lands, truely an awesome prospect IMO, fairly unique too. Ballhawk extraordinaire.

The footage on Bobrocsczky is fairly awe inspiring.. damn. An interesting player to track. He runs like Myles Turner. He's no Chol Marial, would be quite the spectacle to see him in college though.. Put him next to 2 ultra athletic combo forwards like lets say Simi ****tu and Silvio De Souza, it'd be epic and quite entertaining.

I'm glad they're looking at options like this. If Cal is really looking to go undefeated, that's probably the best way to go about it, squad full of monsters, looking to blow teams out.

Whats the word on Marcus Lee, Mychal Mulder and Charles Matthews? Any reports of improved shooting from Lee? Is he still adding weight? Do you think Tyler Ulis stays another year?

Most importantly;

Care to handicap the chances De'Aaron Fox goes to UK?? What do they think of him? Jerry Meyer compared him to STEVE NASH!

and if you will;

Got any other interesting recent info on the 2016 targets(combo guards and bigs)? are there legs to the Marques Bolden-UK connection?

So with Dante out.. Its going to take a hell of an effort for the Jazz to win 40 games this year. Quite the recent offseason development here. damn shame :(

Burke and Burks will need to do some heavy-lifting to make this work. I believe in Burks, the new problem is the Jazz are now even closer to tanking if more injuries occur, which isn't the worst thing I guess. the average age of the roster indicated they wouldn't be competing this year anyways, just when people were starting to see the Jazz as a possible sleeper, this happens.

Seems likely the Jazz will pick in the teens again...

There's not much to the Bolden-UK thing.
Lee has added bulk. Haven't heard about any shot improvement.
Skal gets bigger daily /hyperbole
Mulder is impressing but not standing out against the mickey's.
Ulis is hoping to turn pro with a first round pick. He will return if not. I think that's an outside chance.
Matthews has been a pleasant surprise. Not only as a ballhawk but his shot is falling nicely from the outside. We will see if that translates once the lights go on.
More in a few..

Oh... And on Fox. I really don't know.
We aren't 100% confident on any of the guards but feel REALLY good with;
Smith jr.
Alkins
Fox
Fultz (though I think he ends up with the bad guys - Louisville)
Simmons (we are souring a bit)

Charles Matthews after only 1 month with UK S&C.
