I loathe this sentiment. I don't loathe the people who hold it but I find it quite unbecoming, and childish. As smart as the creators of South Park are, I'm surprised they stooped this far down to their audience's level. They're normally more insightful.

It defines elections for me well. I never had a political party or leader up there running that I didn't take for a complete useless fake guy who just plays along in a parody in which only the words change but the script remains the same.

Probably 99% of the populaces think along these lines. It's a self feeding cycle where people more or less complain about their own attitudes causing them election grief. And yet life continues becoming better and better in spite of all these useless fake guys allegedly ruining everything.

At least you're aware enough to call it a parody. Most blame the politicians for seizing the day in the election marketplace while being their loyal customers.

atleast they dont vote year in year out for democrats as certain state do for their legistators. cus that worked well in blue cities/states like detroit, baltimore, california and illinous

Elections are the parody. It is the most clear appearance of politics' fakeness. When people get elected, they get sucked into the system they want to run and they have to do things to keep it running and I think it's a good question there if they are making a change in their respectful spots or they are just some dude to keep the gears running for the sake of some other guys who don't flash up on the media like them about their interest in keeping the power at hand. There are a lot of theories which grow in number and concept that accept that the new world order is run by financial states instead of nation states and their presidents. I don't wanna go all hippie on the facts of life but it kinda is true and politicians are usually pumping hype during elections which they never care to fulfill after getting elected.

Yes, and I expect as much from people acting in a competitive marketplace who want to win. That does not mean they are evil or tyrannous or tyrannosaurus rex, just that they see reality and do what needs to be done to make office. Then they try their best to accomplish what they see as best for the country and world. That's what representatives are supposed to do. That's what Mitt Romney attempted and failed because of it (he was too moderate for the conservative "base" and then was seen as a flip-flopper during the general election).

Elections are a game. If you don't play the game you are not going to get anywhere. Why obsess with people who want to get nowhere?

Mark Cuban is a smart buy, but that's a very dumb thing to say. Positions are far more important than how unfiltered someone is in expressing his/her opinions. A dumb opinion/position is no less dumb if it spoken outloud by a blowhard know-nothing with a malfunctioning brain to mouth filter.

So how it is a good thing when we have political candidates being unafraid to say dumb things and express dumb policy positions, such as Trump?

And to correct one common mispercetpion, Trump is not 'telling it like it is,' (and neither do other blowhard demogouges), he is telling it as he sees it, and how he sees it is unfiltered stupidity.

That Trump is currently leading in polls and is seen in the Republican Party as a serious Presidential candidate says pretty much all we need to know about the current status of the Republican base.

I think when it comes to governor against governed, people are more ready to fit into the new concepts of political images than one would think. As long as the campaign is not pushing ethical limits or getting lost in philosophical paradoxes to find some uber-notion, but instead keep it real and have the guts to say the things undoable and being honest about mistakes and really actually working and thinking for the good of the people, I don't see a reason for people to ignore someone or some movement just because it doesn't apply the same methods of the previous politicians.

One could say the same thing about Sanders and the Democrats.

Trump won't, and shouldn't win. He's a horrid person and would make a poor president.

Sanders is a serious candidate with substantial service behind him as public servant and elected official.

You just don't like Sanders because he's a liberal (I'm guessing).

This isn't about ideology, however. My objection to Trump has nothign to do with his ideological bent; it has to do with the fact that he's a loud mouthed, racist, sexist, bloviating, buffoon of a vanity candidate who is a horrible person that is ill fitted in every respect to be President.
