Wish we had drafted JV instead of EK.
No you don't, because then they would have never drafted Gobert.

No, Gobert would have been drafted regardless. Lindsey was in love with him. We have Hayward and Burks and still drafted Hood. We have Favors and Booker and still drafted Lyles. No you don't, because then they would have never drafted Gobert.
Just meant you had done a pretty decent job of picking the groups. Few probably would have predicted Lithuania over Italy.Italia why?

Could have gotten a LOT more out of trade for JV than what we got for that pile of crap named EK.

The Jazz lucked into Gobert, nothing more, nothing less.
So in love with him he blew both picks to move up for Burke, essentially passing on any realistic chance to get Gobert. The Jazz lucked into Gobert, nothing more, nothing less.
Was that dude's beard real? The guy cheering after the dunk.Monster alley-oop Parker to Gobert:

This post completely discounts that DL found a way to get Gobert. He did not luck into him. You seem to suggest that buying that pick was some sort of accident. So in love with him he blew both picks to move up for Burke, essentially passing on any realistic chance to get Gobert. I think both of these thoughts are correctThere were no guarantees whatsoever that someone in that range was going to want to sell their picks. If you're in love with someone, you don't give away your picks thinking "meh, I'm sure some team will sell me theirs".
We don't know what guarantees there might have been. No question that it's riskier to get Gobert the way they did than to use one of their earlier picks, but there is also no question that they ultimately did what they had to do to get him. There were no guarantees whatsoever that someone in that range was going to want to sell their picks.
