Video Game Thread

Eat Sleep Play's main office is here in SLC as well.

Indeed it is. David Jaffe does a lot of video conferencing from California, and also flies into SLC to work on the game. Incognito was also in Salt Lake. One of their PS2 games, Downhill Domination, featured a couple of Utah locations as playable levels.

How many video game company's does SLC host these days?

There's quite a bit. Since they are so fluid and the genre is so broad nowadays I think people would struggle finding an actual number. I'd say there's probably around 10-15 offices in the valley making games for popular consoles or PC. Avalanche, Eat Sleep Play and EA Salt Lake are the biggest offices here. EA Salt Lake makes all of the Tiger Woods golf games, from what I've heard. Avalanche just did a ton of work for Just Cause 2.

Disney Interactive has an office here as well. I know a few people who are testers at EA's office and as far as I know all they've ever tested is the Hasbro brand games.

Indie Built, the guys that made the Amped snowboarding games, were located here before the shut down. Snowbird was a playable resort in Amped 3.

Acclaim had some offices here back in the day. I believe that's where most of the NFL Quarterback Club games were made.

Man, I should really try to get a job at one of those joints, come to think of it...

been waiting for a zombie game with a good story, hopefully it can deliver

That looks awesome. One of the best gaming trailers of all-time?
Wow, um, yeah, props on the trailer. Simple but well-executed concept, and a slightly bizarre but effective musical counterpoint. I think I agree... it may indeed be one of the best gaming trailers ever. Usually the good trailers are reserved for movies...

That said, zombie games usually don't interest me that much (with the notable exception of Resident Evil 4).

It really just got boring to me. I probably played 90% through the game and other games were coming out soon so I just sent it back to gamefly.

I've only made it through like 15% of the game. Big let down for me considering how much I liked Red Dead Redemption.
