Yeah, I use a truck for that and drive my car around town. Some of us pull things, and a van can't do that very well.

Kinda nice being up higher, but not worth the price of gas.I hate cars, can't stand riding low to the ground. And the only pickups I have are work trucks, I prefer not to use those for in-town things.

Pretty uncommon, tbh.Meh. When you buy gas a couple thousand gallons at a time you get a pretty good bulk discount.

Such a liberal hipster.Kinda funny-- I can't stand trucks cuz I hate riding high-off the ground. Would drive a Mini or a Fiat 500 if I could. Currently drive a 2dr coupe/hatchback thingy. 1.8l, supercharged, averages 650km on a 60L tank (gibberish I know).

No, I'm not working til I'm 70 because she's a moron financially. I'm not sure when this, "Welp, my wife rules the henhouse" mentality came to be, and I'm certainly not saying I rule mine with an iron fist, but Jesus, it's called being a responsible adult. Especially when we talk about upgrading our house and this and that. Unless we take steps financially, all that talk is just that, talk.
I'd like to start investing money wisely for our retirements. We have pensions and she has a 401K but still. I want to save money for college for our kids. That should could cost us a cool million by the time that comes around. I want money in case of home or medical emergencies. **** can get expensive. This isn't a criticism of you but I think our people in this country are in for a really, really rude awakening in the next 20-40 years. They consume, consume and consume and go further in debt but I'm not sure how many really save and save enough to live relatively comfortably after the age of 60.
two things that really irk me:
he drives places that are only 2-3 blocks away, even if it's decent outside
(like just how, he drove to the post office, and it's literally just 1-1/2 blocks down the street)
he often ends up sleeping on top of the sheets, and I'm sort of stuck and trapped under the sheet on my side of the bed. plus he likes sleeping under a big, heavy comforter - but most of it ends up on top of me, and I hate the comforter.

I HATE when my wife does that.
