What's new

Jazz @ Suns Fri. Oct. 9th at 8pm MDT

It probably has to do with media contracts. For instance: It would probably be a violation of the Jazz's deal with RootSports, somehow. Otherwise they probably would.

I understand it may be against a rule or some line in a contract.

I'm missing the rationale of that rule. If Root Sports isn't going to play this game at all on TV, why would they care if people were watching a webcast broadcast of it? Are they losing money somehow on that? And if they did care, wouldn't they care that people in Phoenix/Utah get to see it?

I'm seriously missing any sort of point to this rule other than these clowns just sticking it to out of town viewers. However, there could be some very logical reason why this rule exists that I'm not thinking of.

Like I understand the NFL's blackout rule. They want to incentivize people in the local market to actually go to the games if there isn't a sellout. I always thought it was a bad rule, and they've relaxed it recently, but at least I understood the rationale behind it. I really don't get the rationale behind this rule.

All Laker highlights ALL the time. ESPN commentators are contractually obligated to talk about one a few stars and a few teams. It's not reporting, it's butt sucking for money. Laker's vs. Jazz highlights are always converted into 'Kobe won' or 'Kobe was off' highlights. No news there.

NBATV is much better at this, but I think that they were relying on the Laker's video crew for angles. Still, this wasn't like them.

This is always my favorite... They will show Kobe making the 3 and not show Gordon going back at him in the post and giving it to him... Will show like 3 made basket highlights from LA and then the final score we win by 20. How... according to the highlights we had 0 pts.

I used to get mad... I just laugh it off now. ESPN is all about ratings and pandering to sponsors and such. Their draft kings fanduel stuff cracks me up. I get it though... they aren't paid to be fair and balanced.

I'm sure one of those streaming sites will have it up. They almost always do. And if not, there's got to be some Phoenix area VPN out there that would let us watch the official PHX stream.

There are going to be some busy PHX servers tonight...

Not really, there last game only a few streams were up and I couldn't get any of them to work well.

The stream sites have the game listed. I wouldnt worry too much.

doesn't mean they have the game. Streaming sites list everything game regardless if anyone actually has a stream. The chances are there a reliable illegal stream for this game are low. Like I said, it was the same circumstances for their last game and there was only 1 out there and it was terrible.

The quality is pretty shady. I got both games though. Lets see what happens tonight. Im using my IP blocker, but trying to help people that dont want to go that route.

Isn't the IP blocker the safer route? Seems like people should want to go that route since it will result in better quality and less risk of malware.

Neto starts tonight too.

Get those proxys and illegal streams ready.

Also seems like Burke and Ingles are both resting today, so Cotton and Johnson should both get minutes. The battle for the 15th spot.
