What's new

Ok this game will be fun ,Tuesday OKC vs Utah

WTF is that Quin? Really, an ISO for Neto? Are we just giving possessions away like it's a ****ing soup kitchen?
Remember, this is a preseason game. If Snyder is smart (and he is) he would be using this time to test each player's capabilities to see how he will use them in the season before the balloons fall and the confetti rains down. It's important that you find a way to survive out there.

I like to see Burks and Hood on the floor at the same time.

I think we will see often Hayward to play stretch-four and Favors 5.

When Durant is really dialed in, he can pull up from about 30-feet without hesitation. It makes sense to crowd him and try to force him to drive into traffic.

LOL Millsap? Give me a break he had no chance the way Durrant was playing. Millsap is not a better defender than Hayward.

Ehh, he has the Tony Allen defensive style that has been known to give Durant trouble. No way am I saying he could stop him, but Hayward/Burks/Ingles/Hood were just guarding Durant very softly and allowing Durant to go wherever he wanted. Millsap may pick up some fouls, but I guarantee he would make Durant work harder than any of our other wings.

We should give Gobert an iso at the top of the key to test his abilities too then by that logic. It's doesnt take a scientist to figure out Neto can't score, much less in a late shot clock ISO.

Okay that I get. He is more physical that Hayward. Of course he can be the Jazz don't need him for anything else.

I know it's just preseason but the with the Exum injury and the preseason combined my optimism is pretty much gone. It'll be great if they turn it around. They should. But I'm not excited.

Jazz are going to have trouble against high scoring teams ,not enough scoring and they got spanked on the boards by 15 rebounds without OKC best rebounder in Kanter

What didn't you like about Trey's game this preseason so far? His assist numbers are really low but he has moved the ball well.
I was actually complementing him. But to answer your question I still think he shoots too much, takes some bad shots, can't defend (even though he is trying), and has been pretty cold from three.

He has got to the line better and has been getting to the hoop and finishing better though.

I just think that even if trey plays his, he still isn't very good unfortunately.

I don't understand this. I'm more excited for this season than any season since the Jazz drafter Deron Williams.

Rodney Hood, hands down.

I liked Hood, but he did essentially what we chastise Burke for doing, really over dribbling the ball and forcing shots when other guys are open. I'm begging to worry about Hood's lack of court vision or willingness to pass.

He is in the league because he's a better defender than Ingles, Burks and Hood. He is not better than Hayward and he shouldn't even be in the league IMO.

Ignoring the eye test, which Millsap wins, he is better than Hayward in literally any defensive metric you can find. It's not saying Hayward is bad defensively but Millsap is better

We'll have to disagree. Especially about the eye test, all I see is a lot of fouls and over aggressive play by Millsap, getting him out of position and putting the defense in trouble.

As one of Trey's biggest critics on this board I gotta say he impressed me tonight. A lot less ball stopping, much better passing, and very few bad shot attempts. If he can play this way on offense I don't mind him sticking around. I still think Exum is a far superior prospect and defensively Exum is 10X the player Burke is. But Burke was good tonight.
.
This was the 1st pre-season game I bothered to watch. So has he been better all preseason or was it a one game fluke?
Imo he has been better than normal all pre season, but still not all that good.

Theirs a difference in the pace of the game and Jazz fanz are going to see that a big part of that 2nd half finish came with the perimeter defense Exum brought and that it wasn't all Gobert's defense

I think millsap is a better defender than Hayward...... But not against durant. Durant is too long.

Hayward would be our defender against durant but then would be worn out
