Pretty Damn good day. 8 fish so far, with some nice ones sprinkled in, jazz season opener, and I found out my wife is pregnant with our first kid.

Gonna celebrate tonight

Name him Cy.

Wow, I read right past the big Fish announcement, Congratulations. And a bit of advice...you better fish all you can now. Your life is about to change. Also, you want to know the best gift you can ever give your kid?....love your wife. I mean it, love her and remember that love is more than a feeling, it is a choice, followed up with actions. Congratulations.
Really good advice. And I agree, my fishing days are numbered

What? Friggen Trunk or Treat? What do you mean I have assignments? Thank goodness Arizona refuses to do Daylight Savings Time. That stuff is really paying off for me.

I got my DVR ready, can't watch this one live. A coworker talked me into going to the Korn concert.

Hope it's worth watching tomorrow!

Im going to that concert tonight too. Im just trying to find a date to go with me :'(

Team PPG - 98.5 ppg

This one is really interesting to me. Only the Grizzlies made the playoffs in the West scoring under 98.5 a game. The other 3 playoff teams that made it averaging under 98.5 were in the East (Wizards, Bucks, and Nets). Only 4 teams that scored above 98.5 missed the playoffs (Thunder, Suns, Nuggets, and Kings)

Korn???? You've got to be kidding me. Forget the fact that they haven't been relevant in 15 years. Let me spare you the time and sum up every Korn song ever made: I was a lonely loser in high school and I can't seem to let it go so now I'm a perpetually pissed off a-hole.

I saw some of the Pelicans game last night. They were a mess with all of their injured players out. But the thing that struck me most was their lack of rebounding. They got out-boarded by 26 by the Warriors. They're going to have a hard time winning unless they figure that out. Jazz probably should beat them in the standings.

Asik is really important for them on the glass. It'd be like us losing Rudy's rebounding.

What was their defensive rating, though? I would think the Grizzlies were close to us but the other teams probably couldn't defend. We definitely need to score better, but if our defense is even close to as good as it was at the end of the season, I think we can barley get in. If our offense picks up and our defense stays consistent, I think we get a higher seed.

Predictions predictions..l.

I predict:

Trey Burke leads the Jazz with 18 points
Favors leads the Jazz with 11 rebounds
Hayward leads the Jazz with 4 assists
Gobert blocks one shot
Neto gets 2 steals
Trey lyles plays 9 minutes.
Jazz win by 7.

Grizzlies allowed 95.1 2nd to, of course, the Jazz at 94.9. Just interesting with them being the one outlier. Definitely going to be an interesting season to see if replicating Memphis will be successful in the West.

Jazz lose!! I don't like that prediction.....

Fish's day to going too well for a Jazz loss. Based on that, I predict a win. We gotta run the table today!

How much do we think Exum was contributing to our defensive? Can we maintain without him? Our defense was so good for that last stretch of the season that I'm worried we can't maintain that for a full season.

For anyone who hasn't visited since last season, I thought i'd put together a list of all the quality posts you missed during the offseason.

So here they are:

It definitely won't be on the same level, but it still should be good. Removing Exum and adding Burks will probably cause the defense to regress, but it shouldn't take us down all that much.

Hopefully Burks helps the offense and the loss on D ends up being a wash.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people start freaking out that the defense is regressing hard when we start to give up a lot more points, when really the only difference is probably that we are playing with a faster pace. The Warriors had the best defense rating in the league last year and they gave up 100 points a game.
