Maybe 3 people did. I (along with others) said good things about him, just like we voiced our agreement in wanting Harkless (who hasn't looked like much).
Just wanna say it's totally unfair, at this point, to compare Booker to Aminu. It's a loaded, lopsided, unrealistic argument.
It is fair however to say Aminu was there for the taking, and considerably undervalued. He was actually a FA the last 3 summers.. Kinda been here saying it each and every summer.. surely I wasn't the only one.. there was a pretty obvious argument to be made for his skill-set.. his 'potential' was still in question though(by some), despite being 23..
I even said give him mid-level money for 4 years when he clearly wasn't going to get paid like that.. I'd like to think Aminu was one of my better calls here.
Aminu and Aar Gordon are kinda redundant though, and there's some here who would have led you to believe, it was unfortunate that the Magic took Gordon, and let Exum fall.. That's crazy, this defense is going to be the best in the league for a long time with Exum at the helm.
Other GM's
are spotting good low-cost options, Tyler Johnson was a driving force behind the loss last night. It's just one of those woulda, coulda, shoulda scenarios that goes unsaid, I really only like talking about that typa **** when it relates to sports.
Any Aaron Gordon v Aminu argument is also totally unfair at this point too. But to say Aminu couldn't have provided the things the Aar-Gordon brigade had hoped for, would be candidly false.
Who knows if that double-double for Harkless vs the Jazz the other night was a sign of things to come,
they got him for a 2nd round pick though, that was a total steal. I like his chances he's bouncy and shows some good instincts defensively, nearly 6'9". he's shooting it well so far this season from 3 and is still just 22.
I'm a ruthless *******, I look at restricted contracts like that and think "
can he be locked in for years for way under his pay grade??"
