The Jazz are trading D-Will to New Jersey!?

Interesting stories out there:

Ryen Russillo chat today:

Did the Jazz do any damage by Deron finding out about the trade on Sportcenter while he was in the Jazz gym?

Ryen Russillo

You would hope things get handled a little bit better, but sometimes you can't prevent sources leaking information and I think it speaks to something I keep hearing, that the Jazz were pretty unhappy with Deron and maybe didn't care about his feelings anymore.

What do you know about DWill almost going to the Kings? What was the deal? Why did it fall through?

Ryen Russillo

Heard after the trade Utah was really upset with Deron Williams. Don't know if it's spin or the truth. Feeling was Utah was happy sending him to a bad franchise like New Jersey. Houston was offering their normal collection of garbage, and Sacramento had a chance with a certain package. But ultimately, Utah wanted to put him in the Eastern Conference.

Reading the Net's board a few things jump out about Favors.

Good defender.
He can recound now.
He finishes strong.
Is a good person, hard worker, coachable

Reguardless if he is a star or not I'm excited to have a player like this on our team.
I think he will complement our current bigs well.

This season is a wash, play Favors!!

Dude was freshman of the year in the ACC. He had to play next to a very similar player who had seniority. You're talking out your ***.

ACC Freshman of the year means nothing. The guy was 12 and 8 player, and did not even lead his team to be ranked. His draft position was unjustified. Yes, he is a young talent, but that's all. He has potential, he has not proven anything in NCAA nor NBA.

He did play and start in NJ. Just didn't do it very well. Which Nets board I can get comments on him, do you have link?

That does make you wonder why the hell they got rid of Sloan too, huh? If they are willing to trade Deron.

....we needed to shed Sloan AND Williams! The game had passed Sloan by. Williams was going to bolt this pop stand as soon as his contract was up! Always liked Devin Harris, one of the few ball denying defenders still left in the game (unless he's changed!) and the 2 first round draft choices can't possibly hurt. Don't know much about Favors, maybe one of you homies can clue me in! All in all....a great day for the Jazz and their fanzs! Why didn't we dump Klinko on the Nets while we were at it???

Favors Burn!

i feel like david after the dentist. is this real life? did we just lose our hall of fame coach and our superstar in a matter of a week?

I must admit I've never been sold on Favors. Every time I saw him at Georgia Tech catch the ball in the post with someone defending him, he either traveled or made an unsmooth/uncoordinated move a la Dwight Howard. As long as he is a consistent rebounder and shot blocker, I'm fine with him on our roster.

Will he and Devin be in Dallas tonight?

Do you have any clue about g tech, their system, personnel, and such for the one year he was there? i didn't think so. If you did, you'd be singing a vastly different tune.

For all those haters of the trade out there, think about this; Jazz got rid of an attitude problem for the 3rd pick in the 2010 draft (Favors), more cash, a deeper bench, and draft picks for the future! I say great deal!!!The Jazz more got more chips to do trades with now, with Favors, Millsap and Jefferson at power forward. Put anyone of them with one of the draft picks and you should be able to get a good shooting guard, which the Jazz definitley need. Keep the Nets pick for the coming draft and get a defensive center. Bring Ante Tomic over next season and you have the draft pick center, Tomic and Fes (if we resign him) to man the center position. You have 2 of the 3 of Jefferson, Millsap, and Favors at power forward. I would keep the size and trade Millsap. We complain constantly about not having the size to match up against the La
So does Utah's long term future contain??
PG - Fredette???
SG - Other lottery 1st rounder
SF - Hayward
PF - Favors
C - Tomic

eh? That's hardly true.

I mean, Michael Jordan won ACC freshman of the year averaging 13 ppg...

So did Ed Nelson. SOme good players won it, some nobodies, some average players. Out of last 40 players to win it, Jordan was perhaps is the only one to become better than Deron.

I don't give a darn about their system. I do know Favors' talents didn't help them to get ranked and when he switched Nets, he has continue to be sub-par. I am not denying that he has talent. But the guy has not proven anything. Cousins, whom Nets should have drafted instead, actually proved something in NCAA, and is doing so in NBA. Favors does not, and I don't know that he will. It's a huge question mark right now whether he will be anything more than a bench player, not to mention a star.

Borat are you sure you are not NColoradoJazz?

Anyone who projects Fredette playing for the Jazz is a foolish BYU homer.
