Following 2016 potential draftees

Vandy's 7'1" PF, Luke Kornet who's averaging 2.8 blocks per game, tore his MCL, they're saying out 4-6 weeks..

They lost to Dayton last night (the Flyers are pretty good). Jones played very well. Not a bad showing from Baldwin, coulda been better. he got to the line plenty, they could've really used some 3's from him, he was 0/2. Dayton was on high alert not to let him get good looks from 3 though.

#20 Sophomore in DX's Rankings (which is too low) 6'9" SF/PF Isaac Copeland of Georgetown is a do it all type who's often near the ball, he's shooting 45% from 3 on 4.1 attempts per. He's on the radar in the 2nd round for sure.

I think he's best suited to play SF in the NBA and his body type clearly indicates that. Some evaluate him as a weak PF, which I'd say is a mistake, as long as his shooting continues(and there's no reason it won't, he can really shoot) he should be monitored. There are some minor elements of Jeff Green to his game, possible glue player.

Glad you finally woke up on Poetl.

I've always said Poeltl looked like a lottery pick and a rich mans Robin Lopez. I've also said I thought Utah would be the best team on the west coast, preseason. I was a believer in his improved FT shooting before it materialized too.

When I look at him this year, I ask "What more could he do?"

Also it's funny to me that DX's latest update on Poeltl starts out "Poeltl didn't make any drastic improvements since his freshman year at Utah".... obviously he did.

I bet you know about going small alright.lol.. Anyways The Warriors went small to push the tempo but MAJORITY of time in playoffs the game turns into a halfcourt offense. Lebron played pf becauase you want your best 5 players on the floor. One team goes small and you take it as the whole league does it. How do you have a job as a moderator when you have such little bball iq? whata joke

Teams always go small in the playoffs. Draymond played the C when they won the ring this year. He's not playing the 5 in the regular season, it's not sustainable.

Simmons could play the 4 or the 5 in the playoffs too depending on the match-up, but during the regular season I'd play him at the 3.

Also watch the games before you comment. Green has been playing center at the end of the games for the warriors this year yet you say he doesn't. lol.. Why because they want best 5 on floor and they are interchangeable. Atleast get to know what your talking bout before you make a clown out of yourself

It's a pretty good post if you discount the insult.. LOL

also Simmons at the 5. Now I know you have ZERO ball iq
Watching the Nunn show vs Yale. Did you catch this? It's on replay on watchESPN. Dude is out for blood.

Small sample size but he looks like a much better prospect than Al Freeman at Baylor. Nice looking left-handed jumpshot. 55 points in his last 2 games is gonna put him on the map soon.

You play the position you can guard on the floor, and Simmons potentially could guard 1-5.

Simmons could guard the 5 vs the Warriors Draymond Green lineup, thats about what he's limited too, I suppose you could play him at 5 vs a big C who can't run and have him attack off the dribble too, depends on the team dynamic that he gets drafted into.. He plays marginally bigger than Hayward.

What's your rationale for Ingram > Simmons at this stage?

What's your rationale for Ingram > Simmons at this stage?

I've been consistently high on Ingram, from when he was ranked like 17th in the HS class all the way thru to this point now where everyone has hom top-3.Wanted him to commit to UK really bad, they'd have by-far the best team in the nation with him IMO. I'd have gladly missed on multiple targets to trade off for Ingram.

I wouldn't have him over Simmons if I didn't believe that he has legit star power. I think he will be a multiple time all star. He's got an outrageous physical profile, sharp tools and an excellent, advanced demeanor. They simply don't make them like Ingram every year, he might even stand the test of time vs the SF's in these next few classes, which figure to be loaded.. He can really shoot, he's long, he's got good timing and scoring instincts. He does alot of things well, which isn't exactly normal.

He's young too. If you signed him to a 5 year deal after his rookie deal, he'd still be just 27 as a free agent.

Nbadraft.net released a new mock Dunn is at 5 now! Nooooo! They have us taking Copeland at 16 which is meh.

They also have us taking Hernangomez, Selden and Layman.

I wouldn't mind Selden as he is a catch-and-shoot master who can play solid defense. I still would love to draft Payton II in the second round.

Who knew Hernangomez's grew on trees? For the PG position I really like De Colo playing great basketball right now. Not sure what he would want to come over though.

If the Jazz took Isaac Copeland over Stephen Zimmerman i'd turn the TV off.

We need a legit backup for Rudy. I like Mr. Joe Chi here...

Are there going to be any backup centers available where the jazz pick that are much better than withey?

If I were a GM and didn't want to get fired:
1. Simmons
2. Ingram
3. Skal
4. Bender
5. Murray

My gut feeling top 5 that would probably get me fired eventually
1. Bender (Bender and Ingram could be interchangeable for me right now)
2. Ingram
3. Simmons
4. Dunn
5. Poetl

Anyone else worried about Skal? Has there been a 6'11" player in the NCAA who was as bad at rebounding as him that became a successful NBA player? He's averaging 3.9RPG...

KAT had a 18.5TRB%, Kaminsky had a 16.1TRB%, Skal has a 9.6TRB%

Is he fast enough to defend 4s in the NBA? We already know he's too weak to bang with 5s...He got abused by Marshall Plumlee so I can't imagine what someone like Drummond would do to him. Obviously it's still super early and he's still young (though he's old for a freshman at almost 20 years old), but I just have a bad feeling about him.

Chad Ford has the Jazz taking Caris Levert in his latest mock, which I would be cool with. I like Levert, but I think he's going to work his way into the late lottery by the end of the season.
