Following 2016 potential draftees

There's something amiss with this whole Ben Simmons mania.. I must be missing something.. Can someone answer this essential question for me??

How is the UNDISPUTED #1 player in the land, who's surrounded by all 5 and 4 star players, playing well, and still his teams are getting outpaced by the likes of College of Charleston and Houston??

Ellenson rising!! Otherwise it's just minor tweaks. Bacon's gone cold, he's gotta redeem himself. Svi's kinda cold too.

There's gonna be young talented players on the board for the Jazz. No doubt in my mind.

Gonna take a break from this thread on page 100. I'll be back

No one should have drafted Paul George becuase his Fresno teams sucked.

Ellenson so much more NBA ready than Skal it is not funny. The UK hype machine was full bore with him. However, I am not saying he will not develop into a top notch player though.

Wow... do we even have a chance? Bender is currently #4 on DX...

Bender could easily go 2nd with Skal's play. Would have to say goodbye to one of our young players and draft picks to move up that far. His team actually plays today. Probably right now. Hopefully he will get a little Korkmaz action in as well on the 18th.

Ive only watched Skal's good games, but how many games is he allowed to have before his stock really drops? I guess it would be half-way through conference play?

Right I think he will drop a few spots if he is still struggling during conference play, but of course someone will think long term with him and pick him top 5 most likely. Also he is a little on the "old" side for a freshman. Ingram is a year and a half younger. Ellenson is a year younger, Bender is a year and a half younger, Simmons is only about 4 months younger. Therefore Skal is the old man of this group.

I can't figure out what Skal is good at.

Simmons and LSU's struggles - speaks more to his teammates being overrated and poor coaching, but his inability to shoot/score is an issue as well.

Anyone else worried about Skal? Has there been a 6'11" player in the NCAA who was as bad at rebounding as him that became a successful NBA player? He's averaging 3.9RPG...

KAT had a 18.5TRB%, Kaminsky had a 16.1TRB%, Skal has a 9.6TRB%

Is he fast enough to defend 4s in the NBA? We already know he's too weak to bang with 5s...He got abused by Marshall Plumlee so I can't imagine what someone like Drummond would do to him. Obviously it's still super early and he's still young (though he's old for a freshman at almost 20 years old), but I just have a bad feeling about him.

Idk some ppl just have unrealistic expectations. How many college freshmen regardless of talent have strung together like 40 straight 30+ point games and only Ws?
That kid is young, doesn't have as much experience as his competition and he'll be drafted very high if teams see development and learning process over the course of the season and throughout the workouts.

Have said it 10000 times, will do it once more:
Observing has more value than jumping to conclusions.

Not sure how much credit he should get for doing it against GA Southern, but it was fun to watch Ingram put up 26 and 14 tonight. Showed his arsenal - threes, mid range, couple very nice dunks, creating shots in the paint, etc.

They just got back their best player (Quarterman is their best returning draft prospect, but Hornsby was their best returning player) from last year and he scored 32 points in his first game back from injury, so things are looking up (even though they still lost).

And let's be smart, people are going to draft Simmons for his skills and they are being well showcased at LSU. They are an insanely good offensive team and play uptempo and let Simmons do his thing. No one is going to care about Simmons ability to carry a defense (at least not that much). He can always work on that. Exum wasn't considered a good defender pre-draft, but look at him now.

Anyone got a good comp. for Jamaal Murray???

Doesn't seem like he has elite quickness, athleticism or explosiveness... Not a knock down shooter either with only 33% from college 3's this year... not all that impressed with what I'm seeing so far.

What separates Skal from Ivan Rabb? Just asking, because I've been really impressed from what Rabb has been doing and how he looks on the court, and have had the kind of opposite impression about Skal as of late. So can someone explain before the season started why Skal was rated higher.

Just looking at teh measurments on DX, they are basically the same size. Skal is taller, but the wingspan and reach are the same. Rabb is 13 months younger too, so he would appear to have more growth potential left than Skal, from a vertical standpoint.

You just described the Harrisons. I'd say he's a better version of the them.

How about an NBA player?

DX says his measurements are similar to Rodney Stuckey... I don't think that's a bad comp. overall? Not a great shooter but could score... not great athletcismsm but skilful enough to stay on the floor?

Loving me some Poetl. His body doesnt even look close to being fully developed yet which is scary given his size and agility.

Ingram looking good too.
