This should have been done already...and we could move Lyles that would be great
Hayward has been the glue guy this season. It's quite the letdown after last year. Trade him and the reason the team runs well falls apart. Keep him and this team goes nowhere fast.
I want the core to be Hayward-Favors-Gobert plus a true superstar. That's not going to happen so the next best option is adding two top-40 players at pg + the wing. That's not going to happen either. The Jazz need to get very lucky in the draft or somehow squeeze out a trade with all these stacked assets.
It didn't take us long to go full retard I see. You don't trade Hayward, Favors, or Gobert unless you are getting a top ten player like Cy mentioned... and I wouldn't do it for the guys like Harden or Melo, who were or are considered top ten guys at one time, because they force you to build around what they do.
While these guys aren't superstars, they aren't glue guys either. These three guys can play with just about anything you put around them and offer so much versatility... it is part of the reason they are so valuable. The problem is the stuff we have surrounding them isnt great and we have one of our three best players out and another rotation player out (Exum). We have replaced those guys with D League talent.
The sky isn't falling, so maybe we should all just relax. Losing is frustrating... some of management's decisions have not been great, but let's not throw out the good for the sake of change.
My biggest problem with this team right now is that our best player is usually 4th in shot attempts. Favors should be our #1 option but he's not used that way. Drives me insane.Yes, we should consider trading all our players if it nets us a good deal that makes us a better team.
No, we should not trade Hayward for a pick and to tank. Chance of that pick being as good as Hayward are very low. We also are in a great position as a team without a trade. Hayward is the first option on this team right now. No he is not Durant, Lebron or Curry but he is still a good player. We are still close to .500. If we had Exum and Gobert we would be well above .500. We need to hope Favors keeps improving, he could be a number one option as well or maybe already is for this team. If Gobert, Hood and Exum improve for next season we should be good enough to compete for home court in the playoffs. Next season we will replace our d-league quality bench with decent vets and we will be good.
This is not the time to panic about our team.
It's so hard to trade for a top 10 guy. It's usually a baggage problem and they are near the end of their contract. Harden was a rare example. Also, most of these guys have control of where they get traded to.

I agree, I wish they would run more plays for Favors. Favors and Hayward should touch the ball every half court possession when they are in. I really hope/think Exum will solve some of these problems. He is smart and tries to get ball into the right hands and runs the pick and roll well. I want to see him making decisions. Like end of game situations getting the ball to the hot hand or right person. But I have high expectations of him.My biggest problem with this team right now is that our best player is usually 4th in shot attempts. Favors should be our #1 option but he's not used that way. Hayward is a very good player, and I don't think we can find a plausible trade that gives us anywhere near as much value back. Maybe Favors + picks for Cousins would work, since he's always in trade rumors.
Cousins may be a better individual talent than favors but he doesn't help win games as much as Favors does. This is a perfect example of what I was saying earlier about not wanting s top ten player that dictates the way you have to play.

He doesn't? I don't know about that. I think he's one hell of a player. He's becoming a better passer, and I think in the right situation, he can be quite the force. Despite being a headcase, I think Cousins has the demeanor of a child. And what do children value most? Stability. He can get that in Utah.
I'm not saying I'm dying to see that trade happen. But if we're swinging for the fences, it is a good trade to consider. We get superior talent, with some baggage. The alternative is just sticking with what we have, while trying to add marginal talent to plug the holes. But nobody is giving us superior players for nothing because they're just that nice.
