What's new

The Jazz are trading D-Will to New Jersey!?

Hopefully by the end of next year Williams is traded to Chicago for Rose and then I can root for my team again.

Does anybody else snicker a little bit whenever they think of Deron playing for Avery Johnson? There's poetic justice for ya'.

Absolutely. The best was hearing Coach Chiesea say that Avery Johnson is especially hard on his pgs and demands they play defense.

Jerry Sloan had to have a private laugh about that too.

I don't know that, and neither do you. One of things I used to like about the Jazz organization is that they give players the benefit of a doubt. A year and a half was plenty of time to work something out and the franchise has let us all down with poor management.

Which is why you shouldn't rely on your OWN information.

If you admit that you don't know ****, then why are you bashing KOC?

Think KOC just work up one day and decided that "gee, I'm bored. I think I'm gonna pull a trade out of my *** and trade away our best player!"

The Jazz have been thinking about this issue for a long time. This conservative organization doesn't have the mood swings that Cuban or Al Davis have. They knew things that you and I didn't.

They made this trade because they truly felt Deron wasn't coming back. Pretty sure KOC and Greg know a lil more about their own players than we do. Wild concept, I know

Yeah, and trading our best asset 1.5 years before his contract is up in a VERY risky deal will definitely get us to a championship faster. You're pathetic.

This post isn't even worth replying to. Please, offer something fresh instead of the constant whine. Your pathetic points have already been refuted many many many times.

The question is too open-ended (and silly). I know it is difficult to get star players in Utah and that's what proves MY point. When you have one, you don't let him go unless you get another in return. No one here is privy to all the information KOC has. IMO, we've let several players go that we shouldn't have. DWill is just the worst blunder of all.

We got star players in return.

Devin Harris is an allstar, just like Deron.

Favors was the #3 draft pick from this years draft. Deron was a #3 draft pick as well.

We then got 2 more draft picks.

NJ is now going to be held hostage to Deron. What's stopping him from leaving them and going to Dallas?

The Jazz have done extremely well. 4 lotto picks for 1. All while saving money. Deron wasn't leading us anywhere, other than the lottery.

What are you talking about? Your whole point is that the Jazz didn't have the assets or options to put stars around Deron that he needed to win a 'ship, and because of this, he was going to leave. Right?

Now we have ZERO stars, and ZERO options for acquiring one. No, Harris isn't a star. He had ONE good season when he was playing with the Dallas - a nearly 70 win team with tons of great scorers on it. Today, he's not even close to a one armed D-Will. Favors hasn't shown signs of being anything. We have no idea. We have NO idea. And if he is something special, are you just going to support management trading him away before his next big contract because he may not want to stay here? We have NO way to pick up a star now unless it's signing one in free agency next year, which we could have done with D-Will still on the team.

Odds are that both of those picks turn into nothing too. We got bamboozled. It took me a day to realize it, but this trade sucks.

Comparing Devin to Deron is laughable. Devin was an All-Star, but not like Deron and more like Kirilenko. I hear that NJ was looking to offload him to Dallas. You keep clingin', though. ;)

Maybe Harris just needed a change of scenery. I mean, the Nets arent a winning franchise. There are zero exceptions when you go there. In Utah, we have a rich history of being competitive. I think it will bring out the best in Harris and I see him returning to being a top 10 PG in the league.

agreed, no comparison. and saying favors was a #3 pick and so was Dwill...so what? that doesn't mean anything, favors can be a total bust, williams was a stud already.

Bowie was a #2 pick and Jordan #3. Clearly Chicago should have done something to trade for Bowie.

I know i'm dreaming, but........Is there any way we can possibly attract and SIGN CP3??????????? that would be SO BADASS.

You just don't get it.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I get it. He was DEFINITELY going to leave after next season. You know this because you are all such good friends with him and have so much evidence. So instead of trying to complement him with championship pieces, we should admit defeat and go back to being total losers.

Love the trade. We get a better defensive PG, and one that`s totally capable of running an offense. Haven`t seen much of Favors, but love the potential. And TWO first round draft picks? Well done KOC.

Not sure what the future holds, but i will be glad to not have to watch Dwill shoot late game free throws again.

Fixed.

The Jazz have no identity and nothing linking them to their roots. Millsap and Bell are now the torch-bearers for what this team used to be about, and that is scary.

I never said that but common sense, quoted reports, and knowing that KOC and Greggy know infinitely more than you is good enough for me. But I guess you know more than all that. C'mon man. Think.

I would have liked to have kept Deron but he was gone. And championship pieces? Who? Who could we have gotten that is a "championship piece"?

More than anything else, this is what gives me peace of mind. We traded our franchise player for a chance to roll dice, but from an assets standpoint this team had painted itself into a corner in the last year. In short, we have a better chance to acquire MORE core players, even if we lost the best one.
