Burks is an acrobatic player who often falls down or lands awkwardly. I think he'll always miss several games per season with various ankle and shoulder sprains. And yes, his style of play increases the risk of more serious injuries. Tough for Alec, but Utah needs to eventually replace him with a 3&D type guy.

I think Alec needs to work on his outside shot, especially his medium range jumper, and not rely so much on his drives to the hoop.

Well, these are the facts, per the medical sites. Since the report said surgery would hasten his return, then it must be minor, because otherwise he would probably be out the rest of the season. But sure, it's speculation because they haven't given us enough information. Maybe if the reporters were more aggressive they would find out more details.

Alec Burks underwent successful surgery on his fractured left fibula. Burks will remain in Salt Lake City to begin his rehabilitation, and will then accompany the team on road trips once he is cleared to travel. He will be out indefinitely, and further updates will be provided when appropriate.
