Health Kick #173 for Serp

Killer Burger in Portland is awesome. Good Stuff Eatery in DC has the best burger I have had.

Love all the health kick tips in this thread.

May I ask, serp, why are we trying to be on a health kick, I actually do know a moderate-high amount about nutrition, even though I practice ice cream, and can be quite helpful.

My back's been killing me for six months and more importantly, I have waaaaaay too many sharp chest pains for a 40 year old white male and know that a couple years ago my cholesterol was like 265 or 280...something like that...with the ldl's (bad cholesterol) like 160 something or 180 something...I have it written down somewhere. So yeah, I'm just trying to eat healthier. If I can do it and get my back healthy so that I can start working out, I'm going to get blood work done. Hope the cholesterol is below 240 at least.

Started #174 on June 25th so it's been about 2.5 weeks now. I vigorously count calories and per day am consuming about 3,000 calories, 215 grams of protein, and 70 grams of fat. I've also been waking up at about 4:30 each weekday (and 6:30 on weekends) and have been doing an hour of core at the gym, coming home and running (starting at only about 1.5 miles now) and every other day, have been lifting upper body later in the day. I see really solid results so far. I've never had a six pack. Even when I was in XC/Track shape, I was lean but never had any core muscles showing per se. When I started this, I weighed about 210. I still weigh about 208.5 but the difference in my mid-section in such a short time has me really pumped. Extremely noticeable.

Wow that is seriously awesome. I started going to the gym recently, like 2 months ago. I am just going for toned and fit, following generally the body for life regimen. I also joined weight watchers in January with my wife. I have lost 60 pounds since december. I started in 42s and am now in 38s, soon to be 36s.

Nice job, homie. How much more do you want to lose?
