lob #2

OKC has less FA money than us. The Jazz are one of the best positioned teams in free agency as we have one free agent - Booker - and almost $32,000,000.

we were in an excellent position this last FA period, too. Does our track record give you confidence?

Trade deadline

Exum, Lyles, Burks, Pleiss for...

Boogie

Free agency

KD (duh) & Jennings or Rondo

2016 Lineup

Jennings or Rondo/ Neto/Burke
Hayward/Hood
Durant/Hood
Cousins/Favors
Gobert/Favors

You lost me. No thank you. I want no part of Boogie in a Jazz uni. Ever.

Track record? lol. You mean like Utah's track record of not playing rookies? Guess that one's out the window also....

Derrick Favors + Alec Burks + 2 1sts

for

Paul George

Exum
Hayward
George
Lyles or FA
Gobert

(tons of small-ball combinations)

Indy has raced into the middle of nowhere and has aging pieces.

I would do it: anything to get a Number 1. Hard to get to the top of the hill without one.

wut are you talking about right now?

He's saying that the Jazz used not to play rookies a lot, but now they do. The same might apply to acquiring FAs. Not really a point worth expending a lot of mental effort on.

In other words... things change sometimes.

Just because the jazz didn't spend last summer does not mean that they wont next summer

The PG trade is one more injury away from disaster -- Burks and Favors' health might be fine going forward, plus 2 1st-rounders. Too risky, IMO.

You want it, you just don't know it yet.

Only way I would is if he stopped acting like a spoiled brat and whining after every single call that didn't go his way and then throwing temper tantrums.

And that won't happen so...

Just to put some perspective on this. Locke said the other day, that Playoffs was not necessarily an organizational goal this year. They are focused on the long-term, so they would not give up something in the short term for playoffs this year if it made us worse in the longterm. I don't think that applies to PG. I think it applies to the above comment. He said they were conscious of chemistry and allowing this team to grow together. (caks)

To take it a step further, they might not think it best to bring in vets until it's baked or really close.

Is this really a bad strategy? This seems like a smart plan and with the core we have in place, could be very successful. I think rushing through a rebuild is exactly how you get stuck in the dreaded mediocrity zone..

If you could get Paul George you do it. Wings like him are harder to find than bigs. Favs doesn't fit seamlessly with Gobert but he fits pretty good.

That said they would say no. Also, our management hasn't really shown they make small moves much so I don't see them making a move this big.

I have some other lobs... Is New Orleans ready to call this year done? I wonder what it would cost to get Tyreke. He's played really well for them and could plug a couple holes for us. With a smart coach that guy might have another level to his game. Doesn't fit great with burks but Alec might be the guy we end up moving this summer.

Also... Lou Williams. I wonder if we put trey in the starting lineup and brought Lou in as the super sub if it would solve some problems for us. I think Neto is a fine third string guard but I'm not sure there is much more there so I don't care about his development nearly as much as Lyles.
