Go GET Teague

The way I see it, Burke had almost no value 40 games ago + Teague is better than Burks, in general, and fit-wise. Moreover, it is hard to imagine Burke as part of the long-term plans (for a variety of reasons).

In the end, though, I can't see ATL doing this. Why trade off a major piece when you're 3rd in the East and have shown that you can go on serious winning streaks when it all clicks? Perhaps they see some redundancy in Teague and Shro, and see this trade as a big bolster to the bench? I dunno.

Burke, Burks, and a couple of 2nds would be sweet. IMO.

I don't know that they view him as a major piece. I think they are more worried about keeping Baze and Horford and think Shro can pick up some of the slack. I don't know how good of a fit AB is which is why I suggested moving him to a third team.

I'm just not sure if Jeff Teague this year is real Jeff Teague or if this is just a bad season. Their situation is weird... the Cavs are coming out of that conference... maybe they are trying to stay competitive while gathering assets for when Lebron is on decline... it would be a weird move for them I agree.

Jazz aren't going to do **** just like every year, lot of rumors will happen and nothing will come of it. (I know they haven't been rumored to be going after Teague)

You answered your own question. They are very redundant, and neither 3 point marksman so can't be played together like a Lillard and McCollum can.
Their team got thrashed by an injured Cavs team last year, the result of a healthy Cavs team vs them points to a sweep.
Finally, Teague is unrestricted in a year and a half. If you've already decided on Schroeder as your future PG now is the time to trade Teague, he'll have far less value next year.

Yeah because Utah/Atlanta probably have a solid relationship and all talks are done without leaks.

All I know is that during the pre-season we heard DL say stuff along the line of "if the PG's we have arent getting it done, we will make a change".

And Burks will have far less value once his next injury occurs. Now is the time to package Burks and Burke.

Doooood they already brought in Erick Green.

Still trying to figure out how depleting our bench and losing first round picks for a year or two of Teague helps the Jazz?

you're pretty high. Would you mind showing me where I wanted to send first-round picks? I'll wait until you come down.

Well some have. Sorry if your not one, but still don't see how giving up two of the top scoring bench players for the Teague rental helps. Plus, there's the matter of Exum being behind in his development due to injury, and the sooner he can develop into a leader as the lead guard the better. If the Jazz were ready to contend next year. I might understand the need to upgrade at pg, but we aren't contending, Teague or no Teague.

We are still rebuilding and developing young players on one of the youngest teams in the league. Trading for Teague means we delay an important part of Exum's development as a leader as a starting pg.

If this trade went through tomorrow, and the jazz stayed healthy, then there's still a shot at the 5th seed.

Teague
Hood
Hayward
Favors
Gobert

^that's an absolutely legitimate starting 5.

I ain't gonna lie. **** looks sexy as hell on paper. I'd love Muscala back too if possible.

I think something like a Burks, Burke, future 1st would get it done now that I think about it more. Gotta remember we couldn't get a single asset for someone like Millsap. We were in the same situation then that ATL is in now. I think if we could've gotten a serviceable back-up like Trey, a solid player like Burks, and a 1st for Millsap we would've been all over it.

The more I think about this potential deal the more excited I get. I'll be pissed when I see the news he's going to New York

Your statement makes no sense.

We couldn't get a single asset (you say) for Millsap, but yet we should be giving up three assets for a player who is a lesser player than Millsap?

Here's what's wrong with your statement. We could have got something for Millsap. He's a Damn good player, and it wasn't some secret. It wasnt his lack of contract(see Dragic and Miami). It's that the Jazz management screwed up and didn't pull the trigger. The same goes for AL Jefferson. I don't want to hear that they would have if they had something good enough. That's B.S. They have a track record of managing way too conservatively and not thinking enough about the future.

Why the hell are so many people afraid to criticize management of the Jazz? They have done a lot of dumb stuff, plain and simple.

Hack is right about that point (although it's worth noting that Teague has more than a season left on his deal and would thus probably worth more). The Al Jefferson era was a comedy of mismanagement (outside of the Deron trade itself).

True, we probably could've gotten some assets for either Al or Millsap, but I bet the offers on the table just weren't that great. Even though the Jazz during that period was weird in terms of not willing to sacrifice anything to attempt the playoffs, I think they would've pulled the trigger if a nice offer was on the table so I would hope that some combination of Burke/Burks/picks would be enough for a guy like Teague.
