OFFICIAL Postseason race thread *Sticky*

didn't realise that was comedy ..

Yeah, it was comedy. You value the appearance of masculinity over wisely resting players and managing minutes in meaningless regular season games for a team (if you remember) largely lost the championship last year because 2 of their top 3 players were injured.

The appearance of masculinity ??? lol
so all the teams that won championships years gone by were the ones that rested their players and managed their minutes most effectively ?? Has the NBA only just started playing an 82 game schedule ??

Let me rephrase my point for those who choose to miss it ..
Michael Jordan once stated that he tried to put in the same effort each and every game because he knew that there would always be people at each game who were there to see him in person and would only get the chance to see him that one time, and that he didn't want people to walk away with the memory of him being that he chose not to put in the effort that night.

I just think it's a shame that people pay good money to see the great players and have them be not playing. I know that's just realistically the way things are these days, i just think it blows. And can potentially distort the end of the season for some teams.

Yeah, most Champions of recent years have rested their players.

The Spurs are the ones who really made it a thing and since then Dallas, Celtics, Lakers, and Heat have all done it in their championship years.

Another legacy of Gregg Popovich along with the atrocious disrespectful treatment of reporters just doing their jobs.

So Kevin Love's arm falling out of it's socket was simply caused by wear and tear over the grind of a long season last year ?

Atrocious disrespect? C'mon now.

It's become a running joke and something reporters and fans alike look forward to.
Yeah, my impression is that Pop is a quality guy. His players, especially the core guys, absolutely adore him. He's created a very strong, high-value culture. He's also super funny. Part of that is his anti-media act. I think most of the media guys (and gals) understand what's going on and I think they like him too. I could be way off, though.

He does give very good answers, he just does the smart-*** routine when reporters ask lazy questions like "talk about it".

The Cavs failed us. Hard and the Rockets won.

Tonight's games:

Nuggets @ Grizzlies
Knicks @ Mavs
Warriors @ Jazz

Huge night tonight Jazzfaners. If the Jazz lose and the Mavs win we are in a 3 way tie with Houston and Dallas and don't have any tiebreakers. We drop to 9th again. We need a Jazz win and a Memphis and Dallas loss.

That places Utah 2 games ahead of Dallas, 1 game ahead of Houston, 1 game behind Portland and 3 games behind Memphis. 3!

GO JAZZ!!!

Why can't the Warriors rest people against us tonight?

We don't need them to! They escaped by 3 the last time they came to Utah and didn't have the improved PG play of Mack and Lyles saw the court for 1 minute. 1. Jazz can straight up beat them. I believe!!!!!!!!!!

GO JAZZ!!!!!!!!

This looks to be a rough night.
I thinks the odds are that we lose and grizz and mavs win :(

They are chasing a meaningless record. This game is winnable for you Jazz Fans even with their starters in though, they've been playing sloppier and sloppier. Jazz has turned out to be a pretty good team.

I really do hope Jazz makes playoffs, Mavericks don't deserve the spot and I love seeing Houston fail.

The warriors game tonight is vital if you want to catch Blazers.

They are chasing a meaningless record.

Um, no. It is a lot less meaningless than the Jazz making it to the 8th/7th spot. I'd like nothing more than to see the team make the playoffs, but the legacy of having the best season of all time outweighs that by many degrees of magnitude.

Without the record 10 years from now people look back and say "Man. that was a pretty good team." With the record people will probably regard the 2015-16 Warriors as the best or one of the three best teams of all time and 10 years from now we'll still be talking about how amazing they were and how lucky we all were to watch them accomplish the best season in NBA history. It puts Curry up there in the GOAT debate.
