Following 2016 potential draftees

You can't be any version of Draymond Green when you're not good at defense.

For Valentine to be an effective player, he needs the ball in his hands. Can we have that with Exum, Hayward, Hood and Burks already here? He'd probably be fine as a spot up shooter, but his defense is a pretty big weakness.

I'm not as high on Valentine as I used to be, kinda saw the light. I just don't think our team fits with him. I think he'll have a harder time getting his shots/driving lanes due to his slowness.

As much as I like him I don't see the Green comparison either. It's hard to find one for him because nobody has ever averaged what he did and he's a shooting guard who averaged 7.8 APG.

Tyler Ulis anyone?

3.5 assist to turnover ratio.

Anthony Davis is the only other player to win SEC DPOY and POY in the same season.

Great playmaker, great defender, good shooter. Only downside is his height.

Stats are important obviously, but you're focusing too much on them. Look at skills. Stats are very much dependent on your teammates, scheme and competition.

It's infact a great comparison, if I do say so myself..

Post all the college stats you want, Foye was drafted 7th overall for the types of things people think about Valentine...

Answer this question for me -- How many assists per game would Denzel Valentine have had if Kyle Lowry was MSU's PG??

Randy Foye is a career 37% shooter from 3 in the NBA, I highly doubt Valentine is a better shooter..

I can see where it came from but I think the comp isn't great... Neither is the Green comp.

Denzel is 6" bigger than Foye in the standing reach department. He's a better shooter, better playmaker, and better rebounder. The comp to me is Evan Turner, but with worse defense and really good shooting.

I actually like all of Luwawu, Valentine, and Korkmaz (the idea of him anyway). Which means we will draft Ivan Rabb and I will be mad (actually like him too) I can't find the guy that makes me puke in my mouth when I think of the Jazz drafting him. This draft may not be that bad.

Valentine's assist #'s are obviously inflated because of his teammates.. Bryn Forbes shot .484 from 3 on 6.6 attempts per game. All of their bigs shot 50-60% from the field, sounds like an ideal situation to compile assists right?>..

Even without Valentine, MSU would've been more talented than 95% of their opponents this year..

Deyonta Davis is the best NBA prospect on MSU.. been saying this for the entire season..
I think people see Valentine's assist totals and think is some kind of next level creator.

You're saying this like it's some bold prediction. DX has had Davis a good 4-5 spots ahead of Valentine all year.

Whenever I hear the name "Terrance Furgeson" I just think about this:

TurdFerguson.jpg

Funny, I also always think Turd Ferguson when I see his name.

Then he should change his name to fearless, no?

Of course he should.

Why hasn't he?

Because he's scared.

Why?

Because he has grown up a ridiculed child of a stupid name.

Trying to scare away all potential Turkish players such as Omer Yurtseven?

His assist numbers are gawdy, but he's been good all four years. His bigs make shots... He likely sets them up for. Maybe he got 1 or 2 unearned assists per game from guys just being good shooters... still really good. He still had to kick out to those shooters.

I don't think he's Chris Paul but dude can pass and dude can shoot... we need both.

I've gotta call BS on this because Davis wasn't in their mocks all year. They liked Thomas Bryant(because of his toughness/7'6" wingspan) better preseason/early in the season..

I knew he was a better NBA prospect than 5-star Caleb Swanigan when he was still committed to MSU.. I've been aware of Davis's talents since he shot up the recruiting rankings in 2014..

FWIW - Who was the ONLY person on Jazzfanz posting that Trey Burke wasn;t the best NBA prospect on that Michigan squad?? people round here certainly thought that was bold. They thought it was asinine too..

Few years later though who was right? me or the posters who said "Trey Burke is by-far the best prospect on that team, Hardaway Jr. is a one-trick-pony 2nd round pick and Trey's the player of the year!

Most thought Glenn Robinson III was the 2nd best prospect on that team LOL.. I liked Hardaway and McGary.

Haha, dude nobody on that team is a good NBA player. Congratulations, you picked the best looking turd in a pile of ****.

Luwawu looks to me like the most 'Jazz player' where we are picking.

- Unselfish
- Good passer
- Good defender
- Lengthy
- Can handle the ball
- Keep the dribble alive
- High IQ
- Attack or shoot
- Not super explosive/athletic
- International

So far I think he's the front runner for where we're picking... he's tailor made for DL.

I'm really liking Luwawu quite a bit... I see a lot of Nicolas Batum in him.

If Lawawu pans out, then we've got 3 players who can handle, shoot and drive: Hood, Lawawu, Lyles.

That should make Hayward and Burks expendable - and get us a legit Vet/Star before they bolt.

I see some Batum-esque things from him too. I suck at comparisons though. Maybe also like a better shooting Iman Shumpert?

It looks like his most translatable NBA skill will be catch and shoot 3s. He doesn't get much elevation, but doesn't seem bothered by closing defenders (a strong trait).
Luwawu's < .400 FG is troubling. He's bricking a lot of shots you're not seeing on the highlights, or not finishing at the rim. His turnovers are high as well. He's also about 2 years older than prospects like Furkan, Chriss.

There are a lot of potential quality bigs in this draft in the early teens

Poelt
Ellenson
Jones
Skal
Maker
Criss
Rabb
Davis
Sabonis stone
Dallio

Granted not all could play along side lyles on the second team but there are some solid players in there. Davis seems a great fit.
Poelt the jazz would have to trade up for but it might not be to expensive. Not a fan of ellenson because to similar to lyles.

I like the potential of skal and maker.

No way Poetl last past the 10th pick.
