Following 2016 potential draftees

Same was said about Giannis. Actually, I think Thon is a riskier prospect than Giannis. His feel and his hands aren't very good. He'll be a good defensive player though.
This is why i support the jazz drafting a big and filling the wing in free agency.

An addition of maker or skal. Then signing bazemore or some one like that would be a great off season. Trading burke for future considerations.

Exum, mack, neto
Hood, burks
Hayward, bazemore, ingles
Favors, lyles
Gobert, withey, maker

That is a super solid team. Figure drafting a wing in the second to add a little more depth.

Getthing Thon would allow Withey to be traded for some wing help. That 9'5.5" reach is high end even for a center. It's early but Thon and Marquese Chriss intrigue me the most as our pick.

Thon doesnt allow anyone to be traded for at the very least a season but more likely 2-3+. He is not going to contribute to winning his first year, most rookies dont but especially a project young kid like him.

Now that the season has ended....only 77 days until the draft! Let the rebuild continue!

Today, who do the Mocks say the Jazz will draft?

Espn-Furkan Korkmaz
DX-Timothe Luwawu
Tankathon-Deyonta Davis
NBADarft.net-Malik Beasley

Let the fun begin.

@pgab maybe I'm underselling him but rookies in general don't help you win, especially young ones. I don't think he is the rare rookie who goes against that rule like a KAT. I'm not against drafting him depending on who's in the board.

I don't think the Jazz would draft him if they thought he needed 2 years to contribute. I think they'll look for a player capable of being 'the next man up'

IMO they could get away with giving him some bench minutes next year and gradually increase them if he plays well, sorta like Lyles this year.

I think he'd probably pick up fouls at a pretty high rate trying to play the 5 though, but with Withey/Gobert/Favors they wont need much from him unless an injury occurs.

Will be very interesting to see how he shoots for teams in workouts..

WE will have 32 million in cap space potentially (granted there are quite a few teams who potentially will have more). I dont think there is a need to draft someone who can contribute right away.
After having watched a lot of Euroleague this year Nando De Colo has improved considerably since his days with the Spurs and is probably the best player in Europe now. I wouldnt mind the Jazz taking a look at him. He can play both the 1 and 2.

Lyles helped win a few games this year..just saying I could see Thon doing that.. Especially if the bigs get hit with injuries like this season..
Lyle's did help towards the end of the season but he hurt us being on the court early a lot. That's what rookies do. Overall Lyle's this season hurt the team in the court. In the long run its worth it, especially for young teams. It's a catch 22 to give young rookies playing time.
