Never Trump

My bad. My apologies to GF and Alt.

Seriously, though, for those of you who are religious, I'm curious about the prophecy of the anti-Christ. My understanding of this topic is a leader the people rally around who brings hate and death to the world in the form of a wall and execution of those of the Muslim faith.

Go ahead and vote for Trump.

Google "Ground Zero" and you'll get more than you care to know on the anti-Christ. There is a lot of stuff on the internet, but before you take on the movement, I suggest you consider just a few general ideas.

Anyone who claims to know what the Devil, or Satan, or Lucifer, or the pinnacle movers and shakers of planet earth, are doing, has gotta be an idiot.

I've been thinking Trump was set up for this race, like Ross Perot in 1992, by some savvy schemers with I think a name that starts in "C", for the explicit purpose of splitting the Republican side. Not that I believe I actually know anything, but hey, I don't think the idea is unimaginable.

Trump likes money, and glory, I'm sure, but the stuff about his hate is fiction. His claims are political rhetoric suitable for the day,and when he needs a whole of Republicans to vote for him, it's nothing for him to just say what they want to hear.

I'll vote for Trump, considering that he loves success just enough to play to the crowd that counts, and because he seems to think people do count. I don't think he will do much different from Hillary would, really, but I think he would find a way to pull the Republicans together if he got elected.

What. . . "You need to be a team player to play on my team" would be his style.

I hope for the death of political parties altogether. Candidates should run as individuals

This is what I have always thought.

I think it's so stupid that democrats and republicans even exist. It just divides us and puts us against each other.

We are all Americans and should be on the same team working together to make things as good as possible.

I wish that they would not even say whether a candidate is a republican or democrat or whatever

Utah will not vote democrat as a majority. That's not a question here.

Voting for Hillary will not stop Trump from getting Utah's electoral votes.

I don't want Trump to win. I'd do anything to stop it.

I'm not so sure.
Most posters on jazzfanz are from/in utah. Are any jazzfanzers going to vote for trump?
My parents are as republican as it gets. They are not voting for trump. They hate him worse than Hillary. I don't know anyone of my friends or co workers who will vote for trump.

I think there is a chance hillary can beat trump in Utah. I will vote for Hillary as a way to vote against trump. I hope you do too. You said you would do anything to stop trump from winning. Put your money where your mouth is. This might be the year that the repub doesn't win.... Unless enough people think like you and decide to toss their vote into the voided nothingness of some third dude.

I recently read a biography of George Washington (dang, I can't remember if I've already said this here - getting old sucks). From the beginning of this country, partisan politics caused havoc. I dislike the whole party system, but I am reassured that we have survived it for more than 200 years and we will survive this one.

Fortunately, any president still has a do-little Congress to deal with, which might keep the harm to a minimum.

There is a growing story about defections from the Rs to the Ls or independent. It uses a hashtag with the title of this thread.

Neither Bush is going to endorse the GOP nominee or campaign for him. The Speaker of the House has publicly said he is not ready to throw his support behind him yet either. He has a lot of work getting his own house in order, setting up ground game, fund raising...before he can even consider challenging the D nominee. Quite the hill to climb.

He still has several months to do it. I suspect party politics will win. They will not want to encourage people to vote Democrat or stay home as this will likely have impact on the other federal, state and local elections. They may hold their noses, but they will likely have to come around. I think they are making their statements of dislike now just for the record.

One can only hope that this is a wake up call to the Republicans. They spent eight years building a platform of hate and now seem shocked at the results.

Absolutely, eventually Trump and the republican establishment will get together and the Paul Ryan's and the John McCain's will get their assurances from Trump that things will be as they always have and in return they'll throw their support behind him and promise to play nice for the TV Cameras and the print media.

Like the old saying goes, democrats fall in love and republicans fall in line.

supporting Trump means you're supporting bigotry. Supporting bigotry means you are by association a bigot.

No two ways around it.

I agree that only one of them has a real shot of winning. But that does not mean that one suddenly becomes a vote for the country as a result.

You can phrase it however you want but I straight out reject the notion.

Also I can say that and it is as viable as you saying otherwise. Furthermore you can take your insinuation that I don't care about my country choke on it.

You want to play the lesser of two evils game fine. Go for it and watch us continue to sink because we voted for more of the same. I will start throwing my weight, as small as it is, behind better options down the road.

Anyone who thinks only one of the two is an option is completely overlooking how much Trump loves it in the mud, and what a perfect target Hillary is for mudballs. Hillary is a terrible candidate. She's completely capable of losing to Trump, and he's completely capable of imploding. Get ready for a must-see reality TV!

We're talking about a man who carried on a 6 year war of words through various forms of social media with Rosie O'Donnell - over what no one even remembers anymore.

What's going to happen when Putin or Lil' Kim Jong Il starts taking pot shots at him?

His thin skin is what I worry about most. He has little ability to handle criticism and reacts worse than my 5-year-old niece. Could be funny, could be dangerous.

You mean "Lyin' Putin"?

The D nominee has to be just loving the current climate within the R party.

If I was the D nominee I'd hire 25-50 interns and task them with recording any negative statement on the R nominee by another R. Then have them looking at comments made by each of those Rs on the same topic. The general election ads are writing themselves. It's a gold mine.

This is a plus for Trump. People don't like those old farts. That's what this election is all about, dumping the stuffed shirts.

You think Hillary can carry Utah? Really?

Are you in Utah?
I think there has never been a better chance of a dem winning Utah than now. But there is no way it happens if people have the mindset that you have (of there being no chance)
