Official Offseason Rumors Thread

I only read the first few pages and the last few.

Is there any realistic chance the Jazz can get a top 2 pick with our assets? I mean, I honestly don't care who we trade to get one of those picks, we would have to do it.

Simmons or Ingram would be worth it. But I'm not convinced any team that would have those picks would give them up unless for a star.

I mean, the Cavs would not have traded Wiggins for Love unless LeBron had forced their hand. Most teams are not in that situation where they need to do something like that.

Is there anyway? Yes, but how much of the team are you wiling to give away? This draft could be wild.

Philly is under new manegment and under pressure to start winning, they will have one or two high picks.

Boston is ready to compete now and Ainge has always been aggressive, but he won't make a trade unless he is a clear winner. He takes advantage of teams that are desperate, are the Jazz Desperate yet?

Lakers are impatient.

New Orleans is desperate to surround Davis with players before he leaves.

Sacrament is Sacramento.

I'd trade Gobert, Favors and Hayward to LA for their pick.

That would give LA:

Russell
FA
Hayward
Favors
Gobert

Toss in LeBron or Durrant and they are contending for a title.

It gives us a shot at getting a star, so we can have a hope of contending someday.

It would then give us Exum, Lyles, Hood and the #2 pick.

If Exum and the #2 pick became all stars, we would have a better core than Exum, Gobert, Favors, Hayward, which only has one potential all star in that group.

You ok?

I agree we need a star but that's way too much to give up unless it's for a generational talent.

I agree that we need a star, but it isn't in this draft. I see good players, but no one really jumps out at me. To be honest this draft scares me a bit. Simmons plays against weak competition all year and is touted the next Lebron. Ingram didn't look very good in the tourney so I have to question if he has "IT". I think this year is a bigger gamble than most years. Probably why the Lakers are wanting to trade their pick. They see it as well.

WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF did I just read?

I can't believe you guys don't get this simple, simple fact:

You need a star to go anywhere in the NBA.

Houston made the playoffs over us.

Gobert, Favors and Hayward did not make the playoffs.

Harden did.

Lillard did.

Hayward, Favors and Gobert aren't taking us anywhere.

If this Jazz team becomes a 55 win team, it will be because Exum is a star.

No one else in this team has the ability to get us there.

So, would I trade Gobert, Favors and Hayward for a star or the chance to draft a star?

Yup. Because without a star we are a 7-10 seed in the West.

Look at Portland. Would you trade Gobert for their starting C?

Would you trade Favors for their starting PF?

Would you trade Hayward for their starting SF?

Would you trade Hood for their starting SG?

So, out of their starting five, we are better than they are at 4 out of the 5 positions.

Yet, they were a 5 seed and we missed the playoffs.

Without a star, you aren't going anywhere.

And don't mention Detroit. They had multiple top 5 picks. Detroit was an insanely talented team.

DUDE. Who are you talking to? LITERALLY NO ONE IS DISAGREEING WITH YOU.

What I'm referring to - and what I assume others are as well - is that you don't think anything else seems to matter. I get that you have to spend big to land the pieces, but you're talking about gutting the team for ONE unproven player. The package you're offering is something you offer the Rockets for Harden. A proven NBA superstar. How many years are you willing to spend on a rebuild? Because that's a full-blown rebuild, AND THE PROSPECT MIGHT NOT EVEN HIT.

Solomon Hill? ****ing serious? Are the Jazz missing bodies to field a team?
Thank you. Think it's funny people are talking about this guy. I'd rather stick with ingles for what we are paying him then what we'd have to pay Hill. I'm not even sure Hill is better then Ingles.

It's your opinion that trading Hayward is worth the 1-2 picks. Doesn't make this fact at all. It's a huge risk, that could end up setting us back. I have no idea how Ingram is a star. I don't see it. I also don't see Simmons as a sure thing

Your an idiot!!

You're.

I'll NEVER understand how people continually misuse, or outright don't use, 're. In the words of Peter Griffin, "it really grinds my gears!"

I with ya about getting a star. But I think there is a limit to how much you give up for one. I would give a lot but your proposal is too much I think.

A star isn't enough. Look at the brow, and boogie cousins.

You need a good team around them too. What we would have left wouldn't be good enough.

I give then favors or hayward and toss in burke and burks.

You are talking about our three best players. All of them with a decent chance at making an all star team.

Lol green

Jazz x old trade any one of Hayward favors or the go bear and get a pretty high pick. Lakers should be giving a pick and a player like jordan Clarkson to get even one of those guys. They would automatically be their best player.

If the Lakers get top 2 they wouldn't trade with us, they'd be looking for a Jimmy Butler type return. I do think they do #3 for Hayward or Gobert, the Jazz decline this pretty easily. #3 and down are pretty big wildcards in this draft.
