Two pages of posts and no one has given even one reason why Snyder deserves this. Snyder's record in Utah is .476. Corbin put up a .434. Amazing improvement there. I do realize it doesn't take much to impress a lot you (see Exum's rookie season, for example).
Reason #1.
38-44 in his 1st year as head coach during a season in which player development was the primary focus, one of our better players (Kanter) was traded for no immediate help in return, & our most experienced players (besides Novak who was traded) were entering their 5th years in the league.
Reason #2
19-10, 99.4 pts allowed per 100 possessions after trading Kanter. It's amazing how good this team was defensively to close out last season, not to mention finishing 19-10 with a rookie PG who contributed nearly nothing offensively as well as having little to no depth behind the starting lineup.
Reason #3
40-42 this season despite our starting PG missing the entire year, our 6th man missing 51 games, our starting C missing 21 games, & our starting PF missing 20 games.
Reason #4
Player development. This is the main reason he was extended IMO. The improvements that our core players have made during his tenure thus far has been extremely impressive.
Reason #5
Continuity. We're in the midst of an extensive rebuild & this team has far exceeded it's talent level during Snyder's first 2 seasons as head coach. IMO he has definitely earned the opportunity to continue coaching this team.
To judge Snyder (or any coach for that matter) on W/L % alone without taking the talent level, situation, etc into consideration is misleading.
