Following 2016 potential draftees

Anybody else hating this draft? I feel like it has the potential to be as bad as the 2013 draft. I have very few favorites and a lot of meh players in this one...

Yeah, that draft sucked. Only produced scrubs like Giannis, Gobert, and McCollum.

Out of 60 players it's not surprising to find some good players. I'm talking about its overall quality, and especially at the top.

There are a few of us on Valentine Island. If we did as previously mentioned and traded for Boston's two later first-rounders we could likely get Valentine and someone at 23. And this would likely be a trade Boston would do as they have twelve guys under contract for next season as well as the third pick and five 2nd round picks (including 31 and 35).

I wouldn't mind Valentine. He's an older guy, but up really impressive numbers, could help right away. Biggest concern is his defense though.

I actually hate the top of the draft this year. Not sold on Simmons, Ingram or Bender at all. Honestly wouldn't be surprised if Ellenson ends up being the surprise star out of the lottery. Utah only needs to focus on improving Booker, Burke, Johnson and Pliess/Withey on the roster. I feel good about the other 10 players as starters or depth depending on what they can get out of the draft/free agency. Just take the BPA at #12, and then go draft and stash or sell the other picks.

After the "big 3", there's Ellenson, Dunn, Hield, Murray, Poeltl, Brown, Luwawu, Chriss and Korkmaz. Jazz are guaranteed to get one. Don't trade down. They don't need to add more crappy assets (which is what they'll get AND risk losing their guy). With the assets they already have, I'd look to trade up for Ellenson if he falls a bit, and then look to trade Burke (if he has any positive trade value), picks and/or cash to move up into the late first again for an international draft and stash player. Call it good at that, and then look to fill the other 2/3 spots in free agency.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Ellison as a bust

Bentil would be a killer second round pick. Though I think after his combine performance and after workouts, etc, he'll go in the 22-27 range.

Yah I don't really have a good feel on this draft. There are going to be some horrific busts Wesley Johnson bad that go pretty high.

DX's combine coverage has been lacking this year. No interviews at all, they must have took away some of his privileges.

This draft is 100 times better at the top than 2013. Simmons is a legit #1 pick and Ingram a legit #2. The 2013 draft had no one worthy of a #1 pick.

The only quotes I've heard from Brown's interviews were from his interview with the Lakers. He said that he idolizes Kobe and is trying to emulate his work ethic (getting up at 5 AM every day).

No one who the majority thought. Gobert and Giannis are plenty worthy of #1 picks.

That's what I'm talking about though. No one wanted to have the #1 pick in that draft; I'm pretty sure every GM would be ****ing thrilled to get their choice of Simmons or Ingram.

2013 was by far the worst year to have the #1 pick in at least the last 15 years. Talk about world class ***.

I agree with your point about Simmons and possibly about Ingram. The rest of the lottery is crap-shoot. In other drafts I probably wouldn't like any of the players at the positions they'd go this year.

Stitches is solid and knows this. I think his comment was more about the top 10 or so.
