We are gonna win the lottery (official thread)

I just played the lottery simulator and got the Lakers at #1 five times in a row. I'm sorry guys.

Not every year can be the "psychic dream that we're going to draft Kanter" year.

I hope Mutumbo is just clownin.

Yea, what is that about? Mutumbo doesn't have access to the room does he?

Although the true lottery selection does happen before the TV show, the team reps and the lawyers and the NBA officials and the Accountants from Arthur Anderson are all sequestered and have to forfeit their phones before they go in.

If the sixers do win, I think it is a validation of Sam Hinkie's plan. Too bad for him he got run by the Collangelos just when his plan came together.

Mutumbo tweeted out a congratulations to the 76ers for winning the lottery. Then he quickly deleted his tweet.

It can't really be true because the tweet happened before the secret, sequestered, and media observed lottery.

SO THE JAZZ STILL HAVE A CHANCE!

So at #12 I like Luwawoooo, Valentine, or Baldwin. If they're gone, trade back. If you think you can trade back and still get them, do that.

Luwawoooo fits the 3 and D deal.

Valentine is essentially your 6th man/backup PG (at least on offense). Pair him up with a defensive PG who can hit open 3's (maybe Neto?). I like that for him.

Baldwin could be like George Hill. Not a great creator, or ball handler, or passer, but a really good shooter and defender. If you could get him and Valentine in the same draft, I think that's an awesome pairing.

Here's the last time each team had the #1 overall pick:

Philadelphia - 1996
LA Lakers - 1982
Boston - 1950
Phoenix - Never
Minnesota - 2015
New Orleans - 2012
Denver - Never
Sacramento - 1989
Toronto - 2006
Milwaukee - 2005
Orlando - 2004
Utah - Never
Phoenix - Never
Chicago - 2008

So basically the Jazz or the Suns deserve to win.

You know what Clint Eastwood says about deserve.

I hope people aren't getting their hopes up high about winning the lottery but what would make this draft even worse is if the Lakers, T-wolves, New Orleans or Nuggets get the Number #1 pick especially the T-Wolves. If the T-Wolves got Simmons, Towns, Wiggins, LaVine and Rubio that would be a scary team to compete against.

I have inside info (some of you could figure out how) that the Sixers get the 1st pick.

So try this story: Silver rode into to town to save the NBA by assuming control of the Philly franchise. First order of business is to get a guy inside, so the team hires Jerry Collangello. Then Silver tells Philly ownership to sack Hinkie, and they must trade away their next #1 pick for a veteran. Meanwhile Bryan Collangello is hired and starts talking about the importance of veterans. Tonight Philly will win the lottery, but trade the pick to Clippers for Blake Griffin and Paul Pierce. Pierce retires, and Blake plays one season in Philly before opting out of his contract and signing with Dallas.

I want Philly to get 1 and 4. Pls god bump the Lakers out of the top 3.

We need to win one of these damn things at some point. Only real, honest chance we have of becoming a contender.

I'd prefer the Lakers to get the 3rd pick and pick a guy who doesn't pan out and for them to therefore lose their 1st next season when the draft is loaded.

What're your guys's predictions? I'm going

1. Philly
2. Boston
3. Phoenix
4. Philly

Then everything else just falls into place
