What's new

Never Hillary

Right now, if Mitt were to run as a democrat, he gets my vote immediately.
I swear I don't give two ****s who the party is or anything about race or gender.
That's all laughable if not insulting.

It is possible to believ that Trump knows a little more something about business than Hillary.

For 20 years I've prayed for a real business person.
Thought Mitt was it. He turned GOP puppet and f'd it all up.

Is Trump who I want? In all seriousness, NO.
But in business he would slaughter Hillary and I think it's okay to make a choice between the lesser of two evils.

I will have to see what Siro's professor says though.
Good on you.
My original post wasn't a response to any post of yours or an attack on you. It was an attack on the two party system and those that simply follow party lines.

I think that with the majority of voters in this country you could look at their past voting history and see them voting for the candidate from the same party each and every election.

I think that is a poor system. A robotic, thoughtless system.

I think the goal should be to create the best chance to elect the best person for the job. I think limiting the realistic choices to two people shrinks the possibility of getting the best result. I believe we need to widen the chances for success.

I hope that made sense.

You understand that I came from the Middle East as a kid on my own, with a few hundred dollars, and practically no-knowledge of this new culture. Right? And you do realize that I am quite successful, correct? Enough with that garbage about street smarts and book smarts.

Um, yes.
That was all a compliment to you.
I was only providing my defintion as I internalize them.
It was no backhanded compliment. Was very serious I'm proud of you guys.

I personally think if it wasn't for its militarism, America is pretty great. After all, it is the society that accepted me as one of their own just the way I am. It is a wonderful thing.

I would agree that is one area that we certainly must improve in.

If something ain't great for everyone-- or hell, even most people-- is it really great?

Nobody is free when others are oppressed.

Canada is really, really, really, really good. There's not a single country I would rather live in. It has been everything for me and my family.

I would never describe it as "already great". Ever. If I couldn't say that to the face of a single mom living on-reserve, why would i say it to someone else?

Trump is a pig. He's a vile, disgusting, cocksure pig. I'd take Hillary any day over Trump, and Hillary is annoying at best. Hillary thinks the rules don't apply to her. But Trump will try to change the rules, just like Hitler did. The fact that people can't see Trump for the dangerous psychopath that he is astounds me and leaves me disheartened about the condition of our country.

You're not "street smart". You're just smart. You happen to have a nose/passion for business and making money, so you utilized your intelligence for that. It is incidental. You could have become interested in, say, anthropology, and then you would have dedicated your time and mental effort for that and became "book smart".

I'm not book smart. I am highly educated and I have more varied life experience than the vast majority of people out there. My opinions are not based on blind recitation from text books. It is an insulting insinuation and you shouldn't be surprised if I respond with hostility.

But thanks for the compliment regardless.

Laughing.
Just so you know, I went there on the book smart thing knowing how it's offensive in its insuations.
Was just having fun though.

We can always be united in making America great again though.

From WebMD:

It’s not easy to spot a psychopath. They can be intelligent, charming, and good at mimicking emotions. They may pretend to be interested in you, but in reality, they probably don’t care.

“They’re skilled actors whose sole mission is to manipulate people for personal gain,” Tompkins says.

Sociopaths are less able to play along. They make it plain that they’re not interested in anyone but themselves. They often blame others and have excuses for their behavior.

Some experts see sociopaths as “hot-headed.” They act without thinking how others will be affected.

Psychopaths are more “cold-hearted” and calculating. They carefully plot their moves, and use aggression in a planned-out way to get what they want. If they’re after more money or status in the office, for example, they’ll make a plan to take out any barriers that stand in the way, even if it’s another person’s job or reputation.

"The two party system" line is the exact reason we have Dump sucking up conservatives and moderate democrats to come out of the bathroom stall called the republican primary.

I get your angst, but you're pretty misguided if you think our two party system is garbage. It's intentionally designed as a slow moving system that ebbs and flows. The party system is perfect for that, and believe it or not, people do change parties over time.

All I see is word games tbh. To me "really, really, really, really good" is great. Only so many "really"s you can place in front of it lol.

For the record me believing America is a great country does not exclude other countries from being great. Like Canada for example.

You need 5 reallys to make a great. Everyone knows that.

I love how saying Trump doesn't have a filter and he's not PC is an acceptable way to address the fact that much of what he says is plainly false, plainly hateful, and usually simplistic and flat out dumb.

Trump, telling it like it isn't, and getting credit for speaking his idiotic mind because somehow it's virtuous to say stupid **** because it's not PC.

+1

The lesser of 2 evils was always destined to eventually come down to a psychopath vs a sociopath?

It's a really stupid game.

We don't need a third party we need one less president. Why do we need to elect a king every 4 years? Srsly

trump supporters, closeted or otherwise, when exactly was America great?

Not a Trump supporter, but here's what Trump supporters, Republicans, and Democrats thought on that score:

https://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/26/upshot/when-was-america-greatest.html?_r=0

I can say that many Americans of my own generation understand one another well when we say things were never the same after the JFK assassination. Death of Camelot mythos as it were. But, since most of us soon concluded the truth was hidden, a lot of our cynicism toward government dates to that event. But, soon followed by Vietnam, the RFK and MLK assassinations, the Civil Rights struggles, capped seemingly by Watergate, just to further deepen cynicism. The world's been ugly and out of control by way of human nature long before 1963, but I know many who were alive when JFK was killed have seen things as being in "decline" ever since.
