What's new

Favors for Okafor or Noel Anyone?

Both have great upside and we can resign them for an extension early in their future. HOWEVER, we could lose Favors for literally nothing at the end of 2 years. I'd think you'd have to at least consider one of them or make a call.

WTF is up with all of these rediculous trade offers?? Shad, u idiot!!! Think!!

I've never understood the Favors fanboys he's never lived up to his potential and doesn't show up consistently after being in the league for 6 years. At least with Okafor he'll most likely be a 20/10 guy for years to come with consistent low post scoring, which is a need for us.

Favors 16.4ppg 8.1reb 1.5blks 51.2 FG%(6th year)

Okafor 17.5 7.0reb 1.2blks 50.8FG%(Rookie)

I do like Favors but if I have the oppurtunity to aquire the potential of Jalil im making that move. No GM would give up Jalil for Favors straight up

Honestly forgot that okafor was in the nba

That is pretty close on offense. Now consider that Okafor was the offense, they ran the ball through him, and he really didn't have any teammates to compete with him for those points. Furthermore it only explains one end of the floor. Favors is an excellent defender, Okafor is a trash heap on that end.
.
Not no. More like holy ****ing hell no.

lol, I think your going to be flabbergasted by what little they get for Okafor this offseason.

Ever hear of a guy named Al Jefferson? That was fun.

First off, I think both these players are better than they're being given credit for here, or at least they have some decent potential to be pretty good. However, Favors is a very good 2-way player, which a lot of people seem to take for granted nowadays. If he wasn't injured so much last year, he wouldn't have Jazz fans like you suggesting we trade him for Okafor, which is a really stupid ****ing idea, BTW. I'll admit, his offensive ability is a thing of beauty. Man, if he could become even a half-way decent defensive player, he'd be in great demand in this league. However, there is a very good reason why LA drafted Russell over him, and it has nothing to do with believing in Russell as a future stud. It has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that the league has gotten to the point where everyone realizes you can't build a team around big men with weak defense. In order to contend in this league, you need strong D from your PF, and more importantly, your center. That's why Rudy and Faves are the foundation of what Utah is building, even though a lot of fans want to believe Lyles somehow makes Faves expendable. Lyles is a nice 3rd big as a complimentary player to those two, but moving Favors would be a mistake, whether it's Okafor or Kevin Love.

Regardless of the fact that Favors is a better all-around player than either of these guy, please explain how either one fits with Rudy. They don't. If we didn't have Rudy, I would definitely be interested in Noel, but I can't imagine a situation where I'd be interested in Okafor, simply because you just can't survive in the league today with that kind of defense from that position.

I really wanna see what Favors can do with a real legit point guard....its sad how pathetic our point guard play has been for so many seasons

I'm not at all suggesting that we trade for Okafor for the very reason you pointed out he is not compatible with Rudy. I was responding to the fact that most fans where so dismissive of him. I do believe that a 19yr guy like Jalil will become a decent defensive player. I was pointing out that a Rookie who was also injured last season is putting up the same numbers as Favors in his best season as a six year pro. Jalil will have the better career no question about it.

He also fills a major need of ours which is scoring! when you watch him so many plays end up with a great shot attempt or two free throws. Not to mention people forget he is also a good rebounder and shot blocker but not as athletic as Favors which is why he relies on actual skills and not just physical talent. His pick and roll defense leaves so much to be desired.

Also the Lakers took Russel because they believed he had more upside and could sell more tickets

Strange to hear you pimp Okafor and then say this. If Okafor had decent defensive ability, nobody in their right mind would have drafted Russell over him. In fact, the Russell pick was, I believe, the one draft pick that WOJ never broke in that draft. BTW, Cappy smurf called that weeks in advance.;)

EAT MY SHORTS, WOJANOWARCANINSKI!!!!

Bruh, please sell your real estate on Okafor island. That is a place of sadness and despair. I promise you right now, Okafor will never in his career be on a title contender if he is your number 1 2 or 3 guy. I promise you this!

I'll even take it a step further. No team will ever compete with a title if he is your starting C or PF. I would bet my 2014 Honda Civic on that. I'd bet my incredible basketball card collection on that.
