Following 2016 potential draftees

1. Simmons
2. Ingram
3. Poeltl
4. Hield
5. Dunn
6. Bender
7. Brown
8. Chriss

I could easily see him going behind these 8 guys.

I could see it I guess but I think it'd be a big mistake. His freshman year was better than Buddy's junior year. He didn't get much of an opportunity to be a primary ball handler and may have something additional to show there.

This just shows how this is an eye of the beholder draft and someone good could slip to our range... Or a range at which we could move up without a huge premium.

From an upside standpoint no player stood out more than Jones. At 6-11½ and 244 pounds with a 7-4 wingspan and elite leaping ability in space, Jones looked like a plug-and-play NBA big man. His head was at the rim on every dunk attempt, and he continued to rise after he had already dunked. Jones also shot well in drills and proved to be one of the most intriguing long-term prospects in attendance.

While Jones' production this season didn't always match his talent, he did a great job of reminding NBA executives how physically gifted he is. Considering he's only 20 and was a late bloomer in high school, it's not a stretch to say he has one of the highest ceilings of any big man in the draft.

Would much rather draft Jones than Skal or Maker.

Of all the guys in our range I think I'd be the most excited about Baldwin. I'm not sold on Exum and this guy seems like a great prospect. If both panned out it wouldn't be a problem at all because both guys can play together. I think he's the rare low floor high upside guy... Physically he's ready to go already.

Would you move up to get him? Milwaukee needs a PG and sit at #10

Giannis is their PG. They don't need one.

I probably wouldn't trade up but it depends on what it costs. Also you probably shouldn't draft for current need... I still think some teams do. Need should be a factor but you should project what you need 2 years down the road if prospects are rated similarly.

If Baldwin goes before us and skal or Davis go before us we can get either Ellenson, Chriss, Poetl or Brown... Without giving up assets... I'd prefer that route.

Baldwin would be a good fit on Milauwkee, I just don't see how they draft him over guys like Davis, Jones, Poetl, or Ellenson.

So that puts him at #9...

Murray is Coach Cal's highest scoring freshman ever--let that sink in. He nearly broke Curry's 3 point record for a freshman. He can create for himself and others. I just don't see how he falls out of the top 10, as much as I'd love for him to slip to us.

I wasn't saying only those guys. I was simply saying those 9 could very likely go ahead of him. Then throw in about another 5-10 guys and he culd very well slip to 10 or further.

I don't see anyone going ahead of him, other than the guys you named. I'll be thrilled as **** if I'm wrong though.

This is where I'm at. If he does slip to 7 or 8 then it's time to throw whatever is needed outside the core to move up and draft him.

I don't see it happening and I don't plan on it but if it does then I'll be the one you hear screaming from Utah County telling DL to go and get him.

Yeah moving up in the lottery is going to be impossible if you don't include anything good.

Here's the catch 22. We would have to likely give up our GS 1st and our OKC 1st to move up 4-5 spots to get him imo. Is that worth it? Is it worth losing picks in killer drafts to move up to get Murray?

If he's still on the board at 9, does Toronto take Burks to be their 3rd guard in the rotation and the 12th pick? Is that giving up too much? I lean toward yes.

I doubt any team takes our crappy future 1st round picks (those are both going to be in the late 20's most likely) for us to move up.
