Does Poeltl rhyme with turtle?

Poeltl's standing reach at 9'3.5" is the second highest in the draft. In NBA sets and better floor spacing his handle and mobility may give him more versatility than people expect. He's an interesting prospect.

I have no idea but he had 1.9 assists and 2.1 turnovers per game.

Biggest strength for Poeltl? Probably mobility, IQ and fundamentals. Not a flashy player, but does everything fairly well and rarely has a bad game.
He may be starting to get a bit underrated. There's nothing terribly exciting about his game to point to, but he could put up double doubles pretty much every night if given the opportunity. Feels a bit similar to Brook Lopez who slipped to 10 in the 2008 draft. Poeltl shot 64% on 2-pt shots last year and hit about 70% of his FTs against teams that were preparing for him most nights.
I like Marquese Chriss, but putting him top 4 or 5 in this draft is probably a bit much.

I wouldn't get out of control saying he's gonna get doube doubles most nights. He didn't even average 10 rebounds last year in 30 minutes of play.
Honestly, I think I like Deyonta Davis' upside and defensive ability more.
Did they change his reach? Its listed as 8,9 on DX, which I assumed was wrong.

I can't see the Jazz picking Poeltl, he is not a "swing for the fences" type of pick. He'll probably be a solid rotation player. I'd rather just trade the pick to someone who values him higher.
Yeah trading away athletic, mobile, and skilled 7'ers is a great idea.

Is it just me or does Poeltl play somewhat like Blake Griffin? Btw I'm totally okay with Poeltl at 12 if he slips. Gobert better up his game or Poeltl will take if he's not careful. lol jk
Nothing like Blake.
He actually looks like poor-man's younger (pre-injuries) Andrew Bogut to me. I don't see the Blake comparison at all.

It really, really doesn't. People have botched his name all season. There is no "R" sound in Pöltl (his actual name).
It's kinda like.......Peuhltell. The "ö" sound doesn't have any analogous letter or sound in the English alphabet.

Why lazy? My comparison is not based on their Utah connection. I think their games are similar - great pick and roll bigs, with good touch in the post and around the rim, both good rebounders. Bogut was more explosive, but Poeltl has OK hops too. Both can pass out of the high and low post, although I'd say Bogut was more polished passer. Both can defend the rim, again I think Bogut was better at it and still is. Thus, a poor man's Bogut. I think their games are similar, with Bogut just being slightly better in some aspects. Poeltl might develop a better midrange jumpshot that Bogut never really did.
That's actually a good objection. I'd say Bogut wasn't as agile, but was more vertically explosive.
