Following 2016 potential draftees

Totes. I just have strong opinions and don't like the herd mentality of "the grass is greener".

No, you prefer the herd mentality that everything is wonderful and all our players are the best. (And you guys accuse PKM of being a homer, when you're doing the same thing).
You're a homer, not at all objective, and the definition of an apologist.

And you're dumb.

I've watched the jazz since I was but a pup. I live and die with them. Until now. Now I find myself not caring as much. I'm DVRing games so I can skip ahead here and there. And sometimes I'll even miss a game. I watch them because I always have, but man, I cannot fathom how people can be so blindly thrilled with this team. Do we have a lot of nice pieces? Sure. I was thrilled when they drafted Rudy. But Hayward? He's come a long way, but I'm still not convinced he's an alpha. No matter how loud Locke screams it. He's not a #1. I admit he's great defensively and a terrific #3 or maybe even a #2. Maybe. The Jazz need an alpha, desperately. And that aint Hayward.

Now you can go back to saying how great the Jazz are - if only this and that hadn't happened this past season. And the year before that. And the year before that.

That's where I'm coming from. You're an apologist, I guess I'm a Hayter.

Says the dude who claimed Hayward was only worth 7 million.

Draymond Green is the alpha on the Warriors and not their #1 option. I don't understand.

It is interesting that Lakers have those two in. Could be a lot of trades on draft night. Unfortunately looks like Eurocamp is no longer getting the top prospects in. Assume Jazz have someone there though. Definitely should take a look at Mushidi for next season. he will be playing for Mega Leks next season and should get good playing time so he could really move up the boards for 2017 draft.

Yes but Hayward is not an Alpha male at all. Hayward is also not a number 1 option on a playoff team. n a good to great team he should be 3rd to 4th option really. Hayward is vastly overrated here by some. No way would Celtics give a number 3 pick for him, No way.

LMAO DeAndre Bembry wore a Netflix and Chill shirt in his DX workout video.

I can't decide if I like him more or less. Guys who are just themselves are cool... The quote from the story on him about just "giving the game what it needs" is the kind of thing I like in a player.

My math is close but probably not perfect

We can offer him 5 years $150M
Another team can offer 4 years $111M

We could come strong and offer 5 year max with a player option on the 5th year and Gordo may opt not to look elsewhere. Endorsement money for non-superstars probably doesn't make up for $40M over 5 years unless he goes to LA, NY, SF, Chicago and they actually win. I don't think Boston is a big endorsement market... I get that they are a historic franchise but not sure they move the needle a ton. I also don't see them as having a lot more young talent than we do... Smart, the 3rd pick this draft then who?
Isn't there a chance that the cap could go up again sooner than 5 years and in that case maybe he would rather not get the 5 year max so he could get his next bigger contract sooner?

Can someone post a highlight vid of baldwin?

If Philly drafts Simmons, Dario Saric becomes a bit redundant for them and he might be the combo playmaking forward we need. He can play both the 3 and the 4 depending on matchups. 12 for Dario anybody? He just had a superb season in Europe and shot the lights out (40% from 3, and 85 from the line). 12/6/1.5 in 22 minutes per game.

From what I have heard the big jumps are the next year or two and then it may actually slightly decrease. I don't know if anyone knows what it will be like in 5 years. I think offering the 5 year deal with the PO in the 5th year would be really appealing to Gordon. His representatives pretty much nailed every negotiation and planning item so whatever happens will account for this stuff I'm sure.

I would jump at that which means Philly probably passes. He would be an older player on a rookie scale contract (I think I brought him up in another thread for this reason), so there is a lot better chance you get cheap production out of him on that rookie deal.

I think Dario would be wise to stay in Europe one more year, but everything points to him coming over this season. If he waits one year he is no longer tied to the rookie scale and could be in line for big money in his first couple years. If we traded for him I'd want to be damn sure he was coming over this year. His value on a rookie scale deal vs. his value on 3 year at 30-40M deal is a wide gap.

If I was Philyl id select Ingram.. Like the way he can shoot the ball and the spread the floor. Simmons has no jumper and will not be able to drive to the lane at will in the nba... I think Simmons has bust potential. He has superstar potential no doubt, Size and the way he passes the ball are awesome but I think he lacks the mental make up to be one of the games top stars. Also only what one foreign player has wona MVP and that was Steve Nash and them two years he won the MVP, he was not the best player in the league, Shaq was. Got to go with the American since this is an American sport after all
