Following 2016 potential draftees

If Philly drafts Simmons, Dario Saric becomes a bit redundant for them and he might be the combo playmaking forward we need. He can play both the 3 and the 4 depending on matchups. 12 for Dario anybody? He just had a superb season in Europe and shot the lights out (40% from 3, and 85 from the line). 12/6/1.5 in 22 minutes per game.

I think it would have to be Burks and 12 for Saric and cap filler. I'd probably do it if we knew he was coming over this year.

If Philly doesn't value Burks then there is no deal to be had. We are selling on Burks at his lowest value, but I love Saric and think we won't be able to bring in a good FA 2 guard with both Hood and Burks on the roster. If we moved one of them I could see us getting in on the conversation with Eric Gordon, Courtney Lee, Bazemore...

I'd name the restricted guys, but they will all get matched except maybe Tyler Johnson.

Steve Kyler: Hearing Jazz may be the lottery team most interested in trading their pick. – via Twitter stevekylerNBA

Celtics high on Jayln Brown, but also listening to offers for #3.

Alex Kennedy: interesting pre-draft workout for the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday: Jaylen Brown and Skal Labissiere will be in the building.

Personally think it would be dumb. It's a small market's only hope to acquire a superstar. Even if it's less than 5% chance at 12, you got to take it.

Kyler is the same guy who thinks Bender could really fall so not sure I put much stock in him.

I would jump at that which means Philly probably passes. He would be an older player on a rookie scale contract (I think I brought him up in another thread for this reason), so there is a lot better chance you get cheap production out of him on that rookie deal.

I think Dario would be wise to stay in Europe one more year, but everything points to him coming over this season. If he waits one year he is no longer tied to the rookie scale and could be in line for big money in his first couple years. If we traded for him I'd want to be damn sure he was coming over this year. His value on a rookie scale deal vs. his value on 3 year at 30-40M deal is a wide gap.

Concur. If he commits to come over for this season. Believe I would give up 12 without much problem. Nobody should expect him to be a big scorer, but he does a lot of things well.

I would make that trade. Doubt they would though.

Throw in trey burke!!! Even chris johnson!

Bill Simmons: @chadfordinsider If Chriss went to Duke and Ingram went to Washington who would be the 2nd pick?

chadfordinsider: Tough call Bill. Probably Chriss. But very, very close.

Chad Ford said this today:
David J. Smith @chadfordinsider: Do you see the Jazz keeping #12 or moving it for a veteran? If they keep it, who makes the most sense? #AskChadFord

Chad Ford Retweeted: I think they'll keep it. Last chance for them to get a lottery pick. Skal, Murray, Korkmaz top 3.

Sounds like Lindsey is doing a fine job of keeping them guessing.

If I was Philyl id select Ingram.. Like the way he can shoot the ball and the spread the floor. Simmons has no jumper and will not be able to drive to the lane at will in the nba... I think Simmons has bust potential. He has superstar potential no doubt, Size and the way he passes the ball are awesome but I think he lacks the mental make up to be one of the games top stars. Also only what one foreign player has wona MVP and that was Steve Nash and them two years he won the MVP, he was not the best player in the league, Shaq was. Got to go with the American since this is an American sport after all
Wtf are you talking about. Only one foreign player has won MVP? You can't be serious. Even if that were true, that has nothing to do with anything.

What an awful argument by Chad.

Look, I get the appeal to Chriss, but right now, he's a major, major prospect. He has size, athleticism, and can shoot. Was a really bad defender, and rebounder. He doesn't seem to really get how to play basketball. That's one reason he has really high potential, it's also why I probably wouldn't take him. Low bball IQ, bad rebounding, bad defense...doesn't speak to me.

Agree that it was a dumb and reckless (and lazy) Q&A.

I don't think Chriss compares to Ingram. It's not like Chriss is some dead-eye shooter or assertive scorer with the ball in his hands. It's not like Washington was holding Chriss back. The hype here is getting out of control.

I don't think they were comparing them with their styles, but impact. If Chriss went to Duke, he would've been coming off the bench.

I think you or I are missing something... if ^ that were the case, how would he be slated #2 rather than Ingram?
