Following 2016 potential draftees

I totally understand the concept of wanting to trade Hayward, but this just isn't the draft to do it.

Trading Hayward for Murray is retarded. I'm sorry, but it is. Murray will never be as good as Hayward is. This is a really weak draft, full of role players. If we're going to trade Hayward, we can find a better deal. Let's at least be smart about this.

I don't disagree about this draft.. at all. But next draft might be too late to have ANY value whatsoever.
And, the only real reason I mentioned #3 is it's BOS.

I want Hayward with Murray. Someone said that Hayward would look a lot better if he had someone who could be the #1 offensive option. I think Murray would take more pressure off of Hayward than anyone that the Jazz currently have on the team.

Getting rid of Hayward is a mistake. I honestly think that Boston might bite on a Hood and other picks type trade.

Stupid phone.

Fwiw, if we had signed a player like Middleton to a big contract, it sure would have made Hayward leaving easier to handle.

90% of the players people complain about us not getting where RFA who would have been matched by their teams in every case. We had no chance at Middleton.

I'd much rather have the team go all in on DeMar DeRozan in free agency with a max contract, than trade Rodney Hood and the #12 pick (plus then some) for Jamal Murray. That allows the Jazz to add a potential #1 guy, keep Hood, add another developmental player and strengthen the team from the top down.

I'm far from sold on DeRozan as being a great fit, but he's at least an All Star caliber player who can be a #1 guy on offense (for a team that desperately needs one) and is still young enough to show improvement under a strong developmental coach like Quin Snyder. I like a lot of what DeRozan brings to the table. Good size and athleticism. Young, but established and successful. He has the ability to drive and dish, get to the line, put pressure on the defense and knock down shots. I don't like how much he relys on his mid-range game, but he is effective. The guy can score. The Jazz need guys who can score.

I'm not going to read 300-something pages, but what are everyone's thoughts on Bender? I'm intrigued.

(And yes, I'm sure he won't be there at 12, but he will be at 3)

Bender

Obvious upside with his tremendous reach.
Coupled with a good shooting tough makes him interesting.

I'm worried about he projects because he appears laterally pretty slow and certainly not explosive.
Couple that with being very weak and a slight frame and it makes him... less interesting.

Just my take. Not necessarily what has been said here.. as if I read this stupid *** thread.

Reach isn't even that great, tbh.

Bender isn't even close to being the prospect that Porzingis was. Hell, he's not even as good as Kanter was IMO. I see a high bust factor for him. I'd rather stay at #12 and see who is still left in the board.

There's nobody in this draft worth trading up to #3 for. Not Bender, Murray, Chriss, Dunn or Hield.

I respect what you're saying but..........

Friends don't let friends max DDR.

Would he even sniff an all star game in the West? Would the Raptors even be competitive in the second round in the West? Ask yourself those questions before you even consider DDR.

Lateral quickness? Lol. We're taking about Bender. 9'3" is average length for for a 7'1" player.

Ok, but his lateral quickness for a 7'0 player with a 9'3 standing reach is elite as it gets. Not to mention those measurements where taken at 17. There aren't too many PF's in the league who have a 9'3 standing reach and can defend comfortably on switches. I think Derrick Favors might be one of the only one (his reach is only 9'2 though).

He's not a legitimate #1 c'mon now. He and Lowry are both #2's and failed. If Quin is such a great developmental coach why didn't Gobert, Hood, Burks, or Hayward improve this year? It's like the myth that Jeff Hornacek can fix anyone's jump shot.

The talk of if a player is a #1 or a #2 or a #3 is so ****ing annoying.

Hayward and Hood didn't improve? Are you high? Hayward turned into a very good defensive player this year and maintained his offensive ability. Hood actually played well for most of a season and performed as a starter, not just a player who came on at the end of the season.

Burks was injured, hard to improve while recovering from surgery.

Gobert's skill development is a work in progress, expecting immediate results is foolish.
