George Hill coming to Utah

Not to mention it addresses 2 big areas of need. PG and 3 point shooting. Exum now has a cushion, shooting is better and Jazz are stronger going into this season. Winning will matter when you talk to Favors, Gobert, Hayward...about contracts. Also the Jazz still have plenty of room to go after a free agent or future trades as there are now 5 PGs. Exum, Hill, Burke, Neto and Mack.

Does it have risk? Sure but I love that he makes a move, for a player mentioned on here in the past, and its panned so hard.

I think most of the cautious people just want a low pick, too. And, most cautious people realize that there must be a few other pieces moving around for this to make sense for the other teams as well. "Panned so hard" is a big over-reach.

I guess DL has no idea Wade Baldwin's floor is George Hill.

I'm surprised at the responses thus far. A dirt cheap top 10 (or so) PG for a meh late-lottery pick? That's a good trade for the Jazz. Pretty much the most exciting news we've heard in a long long time!
It is the top 10 that I question.

If we had George on this team last year I think we would have got the 5th seed.
Then do the trade last year, when Dante was out, not this year when he is coming back.

It could end up being a **** move in the long term. He's an expiring contract. Even if we retain him, he's already on the wrong side of 30. Meanwhile, lottery picks are dirt cheap (especially as the cap continues to rise) and you're guaranteed to keep the guy you draft for 8+ years.

I'm okay with it, though. Obviously this means the Jazz didn't like their options at #12 this year. And I've always felt Hill would be an ideal trade target.

It's a good move for next season; only time will tell if it was the right long-term move.

yep again.

Not sure if posted, but I thought this was humorous at least...

The Utah Jazz are the new Minnesota Timberwolves. #allyourpointguardsarebelongtous

In Utah, Mack averaged 31mpg, 5.3apg, 44%fg, 12.7ppg

Last season, Hill averaged 34mpg, 3apg, 44%fg, 12.1ppg

So how is Hill this massive upgrade over our current 2nd string? The only thing Hill does better than Mack is shoot the 3 (41% vs 36%). #12 could have been a very good player. I guess we really are afraid of grooming another good player like Lyles. Why?
Just looking at stats lmao

For all the people complaining about cakk bakking you should be thrilled.

If this trade makes us keep Hayward, it's better than anything available at 12.

I fully expect picks coming our way. Good trade.

Not to excited if that is all we get for 12.

Locke likes it...

I don't.

NAOS I should have said "panned hard by some"

Jazz can trade into the late first round, some team does it every year.

Yep. I look at the surface stuff first. Then I look at defense, other measures and intangibles. I think this is a good trade if we didn't have Mack. Neto and Burke were not going to get it done. But now, we get a slightly better player than Mack for what could amount to be a player like Lyles, Kawhi, Paul George, etc. It's just not enough. Hill is a defense first PG who is not as good of a defender as our 20 year old defense first PG.

Once again, Utah straight up just gives something to Atlanta (Millsap, Korver, Carroll and now #12).

Hill can play with Exum.

Hoping Hill signs an extension or we get something else back in the trade.

Defensively, it's great. Though Mack played pretty well last season.

Hopefully, we see some more dominoes falling in the trade department and we continue to improve our roster.

Remember, Popovich referred to his as his "favorite player."
