Anyone interested in Serge Iblocka? I heard OKC is trying to trade him.
So @green @Boris @pgab and @ncoloradojazz hate this trade? Interesting... hard to argue with that collection of brilliance and/or whoever some of their main accounts are.
Now that we've had a day to process this it seems like a win.
We get a solid contributor, and someone to help at the 1.
We can still add a draft pick if needed. Seems like there
are a lot of options there.
So we'll bring in Hill, Exum, Burks to our core. Plus any other picks that make the team.
We were very close to making the playoffs. This should put us over the top.
What similar player was to be had in free agency.
congats on your lottery pick of George Hill, LMAO a player who average what 12 and 6 last year. This move says Jazz office is fine with being a borderline playoff team for years to come. Could of gotten a player like Hill as a free agent and atleast took a gamble on a player like Thon.. Jazz I thought was one of the smartly ran teams in sports but this trade has shown me otherwise.. Jazz got worse part of this trade no matter how you slice it. A lottery pick for a 30 year old who put up 12 and 6..
12 and 6 is not that hard to find.. Those are not great numbers.
Some people strive for chips and sonme strive to just make the playoffs. now I know which one you are.
Jeff Teague > Gordon Hayward
Kevin Love > Favors
I need more great takes like this from green!

12 and 6? Try 12 and 3. The guy has not had a six asst season ever. So much for adding a facilitator. We get more of Hayward turning the ball over as much as assists.
The good news is basically 90% of all the posters on my personal idiot list hate the trade, like literally 90%!!
Great post and welcome to the forum!!This is my first post on JazzFanz. I’ve been lurking here for years but have always hesitated to post. I am a diehard Jazz fan but don’t consider myself to be some brilliant basketball mind or sports team manager. I could probably tell you the strengths and weaknesses of the key players on most NBA teams, but I’m not any good at keeping stats and contracts on everyone in my head. I also struggle with keeping the various facets of the CBA straight. I am Diehard Casual.
For my first thread I wanted to post something that I’ve seen done on JazzFanz before. Unfortunately, I’m not yet allowed to create threads so I’ve decided to make this post here. I apologize for the length of the post.
The following are comments from the PacersDigest forum. Overall, they seemed pleased about the trade but sad to see George Hill leave. I have selected the comments that I thought were interesting and/or pertained to George Hill and the Utah Jazz. I made it 15 pages into the thread before it devolved into flame posts and a running discussion on how the trade affects Indy’s chances of signing Kevin Durant this offseason. Here’s the link to the full thread on PacersDigest:

PacersDigest Comments:
Turning George Hill into Jeff Teague, huh. I don't know if that moves the needle much, if at all.
GHill will be good for Utah. I like Teague for us.
I understand why this is being done....but I'm not gonna lie.....I'm sad to see GH go.![]()
This draft is terrible. Why would you want the 12 pick?
Well our perimeter defense went down a notch.
I hate this right now. Teague is the better player from talent wise I guess. But give me GHill over Teague all day.
Well, we now know what the value of GH is......he's worth a lottery pick in a shallow draft.
There is no point of getting Teague if you lose GHill
I think Hill's inability to be aggressive offensively was the final pin in the Pacer's coffin.
I had actually soured on Hill quite a bit this season, so I'm fine it.
I look forward to Hill having a nice year in Utah. He fits well with that team. Should be a nice contract season for him
While I like Hill I think it is safe for me to say that I felt we got as much as we could out of him and that if we were going to advance I didn't honestly believe he was going to be the one to do it.
I will miss Hill's defense on point guards who can't shoot and aren't named Jeff Teague.
I have always liked George Hill though. He's always been a solid player, and was always willing to change his role to fit the needs of the team. I wish we could have seen what he was capable of as a full time SG.
I thought Hill played very well in the Toronto series, where he defended and shot the 3 point shot at a high level. Aggressiveness always seems to be the issue with him. However, if Larry does want a more natural PG, Teague is an upgrade to Hill in that regard and their
talent level is comparable. When I first saw the trade, I thought we were going to throw in the first round pick, so I'm glad it's just a straight-up swap on our end.
I like Hill a lot too and am also sad to see him go.
GHill was one of my favorites, but I think this move is good for everyone involved...the players and the teams.
I would have loved a Hill/Teague backcourt, but unfortunately we probably don't get Teague if we keep Hill.
Hill has a record of destroying both John Wall and Kyle Lowry. We lost the superior player. And a player that would have meshed well with any future moves, playing either point or 3 and D shooting guard. This is just. Not a good day. But **** happens.
Lateral move in my opinion. I think Teague is a better player than Hill but the fit just isn't that good. Finding a point guard that can play next to Monta is tough. Poor Paul George.
I will miss GHill. But I like Teague. I view this as lateral move. Teague is quicker, but I'm not sure if he's an upgrade or a downgrade.
I love George Hill and really appreciate this defense, I mean IMO the best defensive PG in the league. But offensively he has always been maligned here because he has never been aggressive enough to carve out his role in the offense. A guy who shoots over 40% from three should have been taking more shots through out the year and that just didn't happen.
I feel like Hill and Teague are in similar rank in point guards, but have different skill sets. While I don't think George Hill was the problem, it is quite possible that Teague could be a better fit for this team.
GH disappears often like Roy Hibbert did. Larry is trying to get more consistent play. He is tired of it. I know I am.
I know I'm being petty but after the numerous back handed comments from G.Hill about Indy and its fans since he's been here I'm not shedding any tears.
I KNEW HE WAS GETTING TRADED!! But I'm so glad he can go elsewhere and hopefully be appreciated for the solid contributions he brings to the team. Shelvin Mack had a very solid 2nd half of the season for the Jazz so I can only hope and believe that Hill will go there and play at a high level. That team's defense will be great 1-5. I'll be watching a lot of Jazz games next year and will be ready to say something any time Hill has a good game![]()
The Jazz could be a really good team. They have needed some stability at PG for a bit and a veteran in general. George Hill is exactly that.
