2011 draft.....

Burks can't shoot. Just because he is hot now what about the 29% all season from 3. I use to be high on him but we don't need Ronnie brewer 2.0

He shot 35 percent as a freshmen. He also has a very good midrange game, so he can shoot but needs to work on his consistency. If you watched Burke ever in your life you would not compare him to brewer.

A quick question on Jordan Hamilton from those who may have seen him play more than I: It seems most everybody agrees that he'll be a scorer in the NBA but those who don't like him really bemoan his lack of Defensive integrity. Wasn't that the book on Kevin Durrant when he came out of Texas?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Hamilton is as good of a prospect, but defensively they seem to have the same problems coming out of college. I'm of the opinion you worry first about finding a guy who can score points, and then you worry about trying to get a decent defensive effort out of him.

Well the few games I've see Derrick Williams he doesn't look anymore athletic than Millsap. There might be a slight edge but it isn't a big difference. Perhaps the difference is smaller because Millsap seems to play harder than Williams. Williams seems to jog a lot. I will have to see him play against NBA talent to see if he can play SF. Right now I have my doubts regarding his ability to guard SF in the NBA.

You really don't think D-Will is more athletic than Milly?

On a side note, what about Sullinger if he somehow fell? It would allow the Jazz to trade Millsap. Sullinger is a rebounding machine and very good low post scorer and can shoot really well for a big

Definitely favoring Barnes for the NJ pick. If we do get a second lottery pick, I will go with either Kemba Walker or Brandon Knight, combo guards who can create offense off the bench just like how Bobby Jackson did for the Kings back then. Potentials are high and the gamble can pay off nicely.

Barnes had another very solid game. If there is no shot at D-Will,Irving,Sullinger I say take Barnes. If those 4 aren't available, I'd take Perry Jones or Kanter. Both of the Jones' are slipping and Dontas Motijieunas(Who I wanted for the 2nd lotto pick) is rising greatly along with Alec Burks.

For the 2nd pick, I'd hope for Dontas,Burks,Brandon Knight. If those guys aren't available, I'd trade the pick

I really like his hands, he can one hand catch passes behind him and still gather for the shot in one move.
He is athletic, but we did not get to see enough of the one on one moves, or mand defense.
His help defense is where he made the plays.... how does he do on his guy?
Can he stay with someone that would be a legit 3 in the league? I want to say yes with a little work.

There is no way he is on the board when we pick.

If we still need a 2 after our first pick, I would pick in this order (subject to change)....
Burks, Brooks, Jimmer.
Jimmer because we still need someone who can shoot, but I would rather have a good 2.

Have you watched Burks at all? He just needs more consistency, he has a solid jump shot and form. Watch him in the tourney and Hayward had similar numbers from 3 as well. Burks is an athletic freak that can defend and create his shot. It would be an absolute steal to get him with the Jazz's pick

Hayward had similar numbers his 2nd year, however in his freshman year he shot about 45% from 3 while still shooting about the same amount of 3's both years. Burks also had higher numbers his freshman year, but only at about 35% from 3 if I remember right, and that's because he didn't shoot near as many 3's his freshman year as he has his sophomore year.

The difference between the two mostly is based on Williams ability to score and the versatility, skill, and efficiency through which he does it. Millsap came into the league as a mid-major board crasher with little acumen for scoring besides garbage buckets. Williams is younger than when Millsap came into the league and is a much more skilled player, and against significantly steeper competition.

Something frustrating about the draft is that I have a hard time finding good highlights of players. I cannot watch all the games and I can get some highlights on a game by game basis, but I also look for something to showcase what they can do as a whole. Unfortunately all you get from youtube and even draft websites (nbadraft.net is a good example) are film of everyone contstantly dunking. Dunking. Dunking again. Oh wait, did he just dunk that? Wow look at that another dunk. Hey I think he is going to dunk this one...yep he sure did.

If they are a long-range shooter just substitute shooting in place of dunking and it is all the same.

I want to see what a player can do in transition, can he create his own shot, how are his ball-handling skills, how does he handle a double-team, what happens in the post, how does he get out of traffic, what are his moves (post, cross-over, etc.), and so on. So often all you get is an 8 minute video with heavy hip-hop music with plenty of F-bombs and bitches and nothing but every single dunk the guy had in his entire collegiate career, often the same mind-numbing dunk from 4 different angles, in slow motion, in black and white and sepia, and all the chest bumps afterward. And so often all you get is the dunk finish, the moment he actually throws it through the hoop. Not even the pass that set him up or the dribble he took beforeheand, but just the dunk. Wow, how insightful. A 6 foot 9 inch guy that can jump high enough to get his hand over 10 feet in the air. Imagine that.

So anyone know a source where I can find better highlights?
