Steve Kerr's Passionate Personal Stand on Gun Control

See, thats main difference in american and other world mentality. In my honest opinion there is absolutely no need for regular Joe to have a gun. Regular Joes do just fine in Canada, Australia, etc.

Authorities say a 14-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed by his father at a Florida gun range. William Brumby was firing his weapon at the High Noon Gun Range in Sarasota on Sunday when a spent shell casing deflected off a nearby wall and landed inside his shirt. A statement from the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office says Brumby tried to remove the shell and accidentally fired the gun at his son, who was standing directly behind him. The boy, Stephen J. Brumby, later died at a local hospital. The father's two other children were with him but were not injured.

Man that is so sad

And regular Joes do just fine here.

Being at a busy gun range has always made me very nervous. You can see that the partitions between the shooting lanes have been shot a half-dozen times, really makes you wonder.

Terrible that he killed his own son. I don't know how a person could live with that.

To me the only thing that would keep me going is my wife and other kids.

If something happened to all of them I would withdraw my entire 401k and head to asia and go out in one massive weekend that I never survived.

I agree with all that except Asia. Not sure I'd make that my final destination.

Guns really aren't the problem, the majority of Americans are ****ing lunatics because of all the toxins pumped into their fat frames. That's fact too, I'd rather cut my dick off and be a Jazzfan than live in that cesspool of ill informed sheep.

What a dumb ***. Automatic weapons are illegal. If he's basing it off the standards of 1776, women and African Americans still wouldn't be able to vote (or hold office).

Umm. That's pretty much the point he's making.

I've never been remotely worried about hunters in the woods, but there is an old saying out here: Why do hunters all wave to each other? Because they all have guns.

and because it's a polite, friendly way to make sure the other hunters see you????? Sometimes wearing red/orange just isn't enough. . .

The American Revolution started when a bunch of very orderly, compliant, government soldiers followed their orders to go seize some guns and gunpowder. This happened in the context of authoritarian Brit overlords denying colonial citizens their British rights under the Magna Carta, heaping insult upon insult to prove their absolute, arbitrary power over the colonies.

This is much like the real world we face under global ideals of unified authority under UN and regional governance, with bureaucracies that are not in any meaningful way responsive to the citizenry. That's why the Brexit vote got up enough concerned Brits to say "whoa".

British Commonwealth citizens have yielded much to the oligarchs, so much the Magna Carta is pretty much going by the wayside under "new and improved governance", which is a lie. Hillary is an example of why progressive ideals are delusional. . . you get too many lawless people working the levers of power they become untouchable, arrogant, and tyrannical. The wrong class of people rise to the top when the governance is beyond reach from the people.

If ordinary people have the firepower to take back their government under an extreme to that extent, the "Hillaries" of the world just won't risk their own necks.

dreams of a better world just crumble to nothing when the wrong people seize the power.

Thanks Babe... I don't have a strong view either way about the US gun laws, I can only speak to what we have here in NZ, but as we've already discussed at length, it's a different culture, different history, different political and social environment, everything, etc.

It will be interesting to see how this is resolved going forward when Trump is elected (most likely outcome now that Hillary is under extreme scrutiny?).

No, Trump will not be our president. There will be no indictment if Hillary.

Yes, of course. And you are right, I think. I'm not sure of Trump myself, but I recognize that he speaks to a lot of concerned Americans with little real education, who feel their government is out of touch.

The latest polls give a five or four point spread. . . with the Green Party costing Hillary the one percent. I bet the Libertarian Party takes about three percent from Trump. . . including Colton and Stoked, who knows maybe even you. I like the Libertarian Party.

So if Trump wins, he'll have to mind his manners to get anything done. A lot of Republicans could side with the Democrats in the Senate and House.

If Hillary wins, I fear she'll take it for a "Mandate" to do a lot of radical stuff, like go get the guns and massive waves of immigrants we will just crumble trying to feed, care for, educate. ... and wages will go down for everyone to third world levels. Well, she'll declare a $15 minimum wage, and every real job will have hundreds of applicants, and employers will pick the crème. The rest will go on "self-employment" or "contractor" menial labor. Look for packing houses, hotels, ag workers literally at one anothers' throats over a petty job. I imagine some Republicans will vote with her on a lot of deals, not really all that good for us.

So, I'm saying we all gotta get down to the basics in our lives, and prepare for some hard times. This is not going to be good, whichever way it goes.

My vote for Trump is to send a signal to the "Establishment", but who knows, I could be wrong. Trump could be the super "Establishment" Pres of all time. Who knows.

Hillary was given a sort of pass by the FBI today, concluding their investigation. They said "Nothing Criminal, just a lot of irresponsible and stupid". In my mind, they are being "irresponsible and stupid", but even so, it's a worse indictment to call her "irresponsible and stupid". Criminal, we can live with. irresponsible we can't.

All polls that include Stein and Johnson are costing Clinton and Trump about 4-5 points each.

Lexington and Concord was the first battle of the war, but let's not go so far to make the mistake that it was the spark that ignited the war. The war would have occurred regardless.

Although a bit off topic, the war was won by the US only after Washington forged an effective, organized regular army. A militia did not and would not have won the war. The symbol of public spirited minute men standing up against the power of the government to defeat it is a myth. Yet, the paranoid low IQ militia types today continue to believe that they are the bulwarks protecting society against the power of the government, just like they did back in 1776.
