There was this story I read about of some guy back east that is heavily over weight. Also a huge Pokémon fan. Well he got the game and bought a fitbit and has been walking several miles every day (said one day we walked over 55,000 steps). I think that's pretty cool, if true.
America has been a sad state of affairs for years and years now.
If we need to start hanging donuts off the end of sticks to get people out then right on! I'll donate some sticks. I wont down play what it takes. Because we got them out.
Now me personally, I don't need that even though I play the game. But so what if I did need this to get out? All down playing it will do is drive the more emotionally sensitive back to their couches.

Except this isn't a solution. It's a band-aid that eventually will be ripped off and people will go back to who they truly are.
Team Instinct boys! I just started playing it heavily around three days ago. My goal right now is to max out the amount of Pokemon you can have in your party at one time (250) then transfer them and have around 5 really strong ones and focus on them. I know I don't have to wait to fill it up and just transfer as I go but it's fun to have a goal. What's the rarest or coolest Pokemon someone here has caught so far? I found a Pinsir with 254 CP yesterday. I just started recently so I'm not sure if that's good or not. I'm still getting the hang of the rules and what not.

Some will sure, but some wont. Some will discover, hey this is pretty fun! They will stay part of the hiking groups or play date groups... that they formed to play this game.
But hell with it. They are outside for reasons I don't like/understand so I'll down play it.
That's what I don't get.
Now the ones that do go back inside after a while? That's fine, to each their own.

I know a lot of kids that I went to high school with who don't get out much or don't have a ton of friends who play this and it has done wonders for them.

Not directly. But there are always who will be entrepreneurs.
Saw a FB post about a kid in St. George that is starting up 2 hour Pokémon tours for 15$ a head and he can take 9 people at once. He has a vehicle and everything lol.
I'd also bet on a side market being set up once trading is added to the game. People will trade rares for 25$ or something.

Eh. I just think it's sad this is what it takes to get people "active". There's so much more to life they're missing out on. I view that as a shame.

Yeah. You're an adult, do something productive. I waste enough time on this place...I can't imagine how much I would waste if I was playing some video game that enables zero productiveness. And I'm just sick of seeing everybody staring at their phones 24/7...makes for a less friendly population.
