Utah Jazz Summer League Topic

Bolomboy averaged 8 rebs in 20 min in Vegas. That's about 14 per 36. For comparison, Lyles averaged 7 in 33 minutes per. Nance Jr 7 in 28 minutes per. Poeltl 7 in 25 minutes.

He was dominant on the glass, but it didn't get noticed much because the coaches didn't play him.

The fact he put up solid numbers without standing out is good in a sense. It'll be interesting to see how he plays in the remaining summer league and preseason and to see what happens with him.

Is he able to come in for 5 minutes, rough some people up and maybe lay down a flagrant foul or two? I think that's what we really need. If he brings that on a semi-consistent basis, leave him on the roster.

I think Bolomboy plays in the D league this year, and may have a chance to make the roster next year, depending what happens with Diaw (team option for 2017-2018 correct?) and Pliess.

How many options are there?

If that's the case it will be interesting to see what the contract looks like to lock him in to keep other teams from getting him. It would likely be a nicer contract than some of the others we've seen (like the Bost signing).

Well, you probably noticed that his shot is not nearly as bad as the first few games. I think it was nerves early on. Still not playing very good defense but can he ever rebound. I think he's a lot more valuable than Pleiss for the long term. Like I said from the start, keep his rights and let him play in the D-League or overseas.

Today, the Jazz are playing the Fakers. Too bad the Jazz got blown out in the second half against the Nuggets. Jazz coaches shut down Trey Lyles or what? It ain't fun watching the summer league without having any Jazz standout player out there like Lyles has been playing.

Lakers have had a pretty good summer league. I suspect they will smoke us tonight with no Trey.

Tonight's game will be fun. I think Butterfield will play much better.

I'm watching the Rockets-Bucks game. Isiah Thomas said Jabari Parker was the number one overall pick in the draft.

How ****ing ****ty has Buddy Hield been this Summer League? Jesus Christ, I would be ****ting bricks if I was New Orlean's GM. Looks like he ****ed that one up. Zero excuse for him not to be dominating SL at his age. I know SL doesnt really mean jack, but it's not a good sign.

How many lottery picked 22 year olds have struggled this badly at SL and had a good career? I would think lottery picked seniors usually do well.

Wonder if he's carrying a minor injury... hasn't it already been 2 games he hasn't played in?

No, you don't overplay a player who has shown he doesnt belong in SL. Lyles did what he had to, he is done. No one plays their main players that much.

Ya, Valentine has looked good. (Portis has been really good btw)

Portis has a sweet jump shot. Can't believe he fell all the way to the Bulls but looking at who was selected before him it shows how much depth there was in that drat - full of rotation players. The second round was pretty bleak though. I like the second rounders in this year's draft more (and of course, I like the first rounders in last year's draft more than this year's).

I have memories of Tim Duncan sucking in Summer League. Couldn't do a thing against Greg Ostertag.
