Tattoos

...I don't consider ANY tattoo as being "normal"! To me someone who puts a tattoo on there body is desecrating there body and is close to being brain dead! Before tattoo's went mainstream, (this was in the late 70's or early 80's) I remember sitting in a N.Y. City delicatessen and a guy walked in with a "Mohawk" haircut with an engraving of a "Pyramid" on one side and a "Chainsaw" on the other side! I couldn't help but wonder:"Did this knot head wake up one morning with this idea in mind or did he read about it in a book?" He had to be on drugs of some sort...marijuana, crack cocaine, heroin...because a "normal" person could not have in his wildest dreams, come up with that idea! If I had to do it over again...I would have gone up to him and just, out of curiosity, nothing personal, ask him where he came up with that idea? There had to be a reason, right?
I didn't read this. Didn't need to.

But you're a backward idiot.

And that's coming from a guy that grew up in Kentucky and has a truck with an 8" lift with NRA decals.
I'm also a guy that is very successful and articulate.

You are a dumbass.

Just because you've never come up with a creative idea on your own doesn't mean that other people can't.

This is the only mention of "tattoo's" in the Bible. (Leviticus 19:28) 28 “‘You must not make cuts in your flesh for a dead person, and you must not make tattoo markings on yourselves. I am Jehovah."

And history bears out the reason WHY it was forbidden!

Throughout history the tattoo bears the mark of paganism, demonism, Baal worship, shamanism, mysticism, heathenism, cannibalism and just about every other pagan belief known.

Among today’s latest tattoo craze is "tribal tattoos", which are pure paganism. Tribal tattoos are designs that bear serious symbolic mystical and occult meanings. Tribal tattoos, especially, are possible channels into spiritual and demonic possession.

Ronald Scutt, in his exhaustive book, Art, Sex and Symbol covers a great deal about the history and culture of tattoos. Scutt documents that most of the time tattoos are connected to spiritual, religious and mystical purposes.

Dr. Hambly, probably the greatest tattooist historian and researcher that ever lived, writes over and over, that tattoos are based on pagan spiritual and religious rituals. Any serious and honest study of the origin and foundation of the tattoo will clearly expose a demonic and supernatural intent of tattoos.

"Creative idea?" Yeah, lets see! Get a Mohawk haircut and then have a tattoo of a CHAINSAW on one side and a PYRAMID on the other side! Yeah, I'm being "creative!" or let's take it a step further! Like Charles Manson did! "Let me put a tattoo of a "swastika" on my FOREHEAD!" Yeah, that's really creative!

Today's compulsive tattooing of the body is often a symptom of serious emotional stress or abuse, and probably calls for professional help!

Did you know there actually isn't any such thing as a demon or demonic possession? Does that help calm you down a little bit?

Coffman's Commentary on the Old and New Testament under Leviticus 19:18 says:

"The cutting of one's flesh also characterized pagan worship as attested by the priests of Baal on Mount Carmel in the contest with Elijah. Tattooing was also a device of paganism. . . Christians generally disapprove of tattooing, despite the fact of the widespread use of it by many even today. In the light of what God says here, and in view of the history of it, it seems strange that anyone would pay someone else to tattoo him."
(Coffman's Commentaries on the Old and New Testament, Leviticus 19:28)

If they were free or I were rich then I would probably have as many tattoos as lil Wayne. But they are expensive, I'm poor, and I got bills to pay. Have to prioritize and tattoos are way down on the list.

I really want one across my back of my last name with each letter being it's own tattoo representing something personal about me.

The letter M would be 2 mountain peaks forming the letter M.
The letter A would be two revolvers next to each other (back to back) with the barrels forming the vertical lines that make the capital A and a couple roses going across to make the horizontal line (it's from The Dark Tower books by Stephen King)
The letter O would be the jagermeister symbol (the circle with the deer in it with the cross between the antlers).

And so on.
Probably cost a few thousand dollars though and I need that money for more important stuff. Been wanting that tattoo for years and years. I have 8 letters in my last name and have a symbol already chosen for each letter. It would be bad ***

Just a curious question...sounds like you want to be defined by mountains, alcohol, and guns. I wouldn't ever think two of those things (including the opposite, i.e. the lack thereof) would ever be a consideration to me, so why would you have tattoos of guns and booze?

I'm not fish, obvi, but isn't the answer blatantly obvious??

Not debating the veracity of your claim, here, but I love the saying, "the devil gets a ton of blame for stupid **** Christians do."

Good question. The guns have nothing to do with guns.... They represent my favorite reading material.
The booze has little to do with booze. If you look up the jagermeister symbol it has a deer with a cross between the antlers... That symbol is more about how I feel spirituality/religion/God when I'm in the wilderness... And, I also like to party.

Other symbols that would represent letters in my last name tattoo would be a river, a bent fishing pole, an actual fish biting at a lure, a palm tree, and a perigrine falcon

Thanks for the reasoned response.

My pleasure. I can see how it would have liked like guns and booze lol.

The guns and roses that form the A look amazing/beautiful btw and form the A flawlessly.

DEMON POSSESSION
The captive control and influence of a person by an invisible wicked spirit. In Bible times demonized persons were afflicted in various ways: some were unable to speak, some were blind, some acted insane, and some possessed superhuman strength. All were woefully mistreated by these invisible bullies. (Mt 9:32; 12:22; 17:15; Mr 5:3-5; Lu 8:29; 9:42; 11:14; Ac 19:16) Men, women, and children were their victims. (Mt 15:22; Mr 5:2) Sometimes the agony was compounded when many demons gained possession of a person at the same time. (Lu 8:2,*30) When the demon was expelled, the person returned to a normal, sane state of mind. There is a difference between demon possession and ordinary physical sickness and disease, for Jesus cured both types of disorder.—Mt 8:16; 17:18; Mr 1:32,*34.

How do demons affect us?

Just as many people on earth have acted badly by disobeying God, so also in heaven many angels have rebelled against God. (2*Peter 2:4) Disobedient angels are called demons. Foremost among them is Satan, the Devil. Satan and his demons are misleading mankind.—Read Revelation 12:9.

Satan has used corrupt businesses, human governments, and false religions to influence people and to turn them away from God. Thus, Satan is responsible for the injustice, violence, and suffering that afflict mankind.—Read 1*John 5:19.

Since there is so much interest today in the strange and mysterious, more and more persons are becoming involved in spiritism. Most of these persons, however, do not know that they are actually becoming involved with wicked spirits. This is not innocent fun. Wicked spirits have power to hurt and harm. They are vicious. And, before Christ jails them in destruction forever, they are doing all they can to bring humans under their wicked power. (Matthew 8:28,*29) So if you want to live forever in happiness on earth after all wickedness is removed, you need to keep free from demon power by keeping away from every kind of spiritism.

CJ is right. Tattoos that depict the violent symbology of strange religions are Uber creepy.

Was his response the obvious one you expected?

Of course it was. We al have different walks, different paradigms, and alternative means of expressions.
The answer is because it feels right "to me." (And I don't understand why "you" judge me for my expression of my feelings versus you expressing your own).

It can't possibly be any more obvious than that.
