Rio Olympics anyone?

Kyrie with a 3 that looked a lot like the one that iced the Finals.

I love the way this AUS team digs in on defense.

Australia going to have to rethink Baynes on Melo if they play again.

Good game. Showed that USA is beatable and that Aussies are contenders for medal in these Olympics.

During half time + the third quarter + part of the 4th quarter of the USA-AUS game, I caught most of the medal round for Olympic Lifting. Did anybody else see this? Probably my favorite olympics event I've ever watched.

I prefer archery and handball.

Looking forward to this

Don't like Kornikova butts very much but yes.

If Aussies win expect other group teams to do anything they can to avoid 3d place. Spain especially is known for losing intentionally in previous tournaments to get better opponents in playoffs.

If it's either 3rd or 4th for Spain, they'll still try to get 3rd because 4th means USA in the quarterfinals

Has anyone watched Judo???

LOL ... like, what is the point of it?? Are you allowed to punch?? Are you allowed to kick?? No right? So what do you do? And what's with running away to preserve your points (i.e., non-combat)?

I mean this guy ran away from his opponent once he punched him,... and he won the match (you're allowed 2 non-combats before being deducted points).

I did judo in my teenage years for about 4 years ( needed to quite for medical reasons) - one of my favorite sports of all time. Hard to explain the specific Judo wrestling rules and scoring if you are not watching together. But basically you score and win with throws, submissions or via disqualification of opponent. So yes, if somebody made a weak throw and scored a yuko ( lowest score awarded for a throw which ends up on the but, side, not full range, etc) he may try to defend that score and run the time. Avoiding fight results in warning or penalty called shido - 4 shidos will result in loss and disqualifying penalty called hansoku make. You can get straightforward hansoku make if you punch your opponent, kick, do illegal submission attempt, etc. So some people if they defending their score and already have 3 warnings , they have no choice but to be active and try convincing the official that they are attacking as it would be major shame to lose by 4 shidos.
