And nice timing on the question as my wife woke me up to a home intruder at 3:30 a.m. two nights ago. At first I wrote it off as possibly her waking up hearing things, but it turns out she had been awake for a couple of hours. We have a few distinct floor board creaks and the feet shuffling is distinct as well. The TV had been unplugged and the garage door was unlocked.

I've always said an indoor dog is the best home defense but apparently a baby waking up crying scares them off just as well.

So I locked them in the room and went out guns blazing, with backup plans inside the room should she hear anything go down.
