Stupid Pet Peeves

Sometimes when I see a car that is parked right along the line between parking spots I like to play a game I call "Who can get close to the line?" I went to the store the other day and had the perfect WCGC game set-up, which is when they park close on the driver's side of their car. So I do a pretty good job but they other guy was the winner because he actually had a tire touching the line and I was a good 4-5" off the line. I went inside and did my shopping. As I'm walking to my car I see the other car is still there and someone is walking in that direction and they start saying "what the heck?" They are checking to see who won the game when I get to my car. They say "how's this?" and I ask them who's closer to the line as I get in my car and back out while they stand there waiting for me to leave so they have room to get in on the driver's side.

I saw 2 guys play a similar game. The interesting thing was, I watched the first guy park. We will call him player #1. Player #1 parked off to the side in the stall because the parking lot was pretty full and some ******* in a huge truck had already parked like a dick and taken up most of his spot. So Player #1 parked, off to the side, and he and his wife and went inside. Then the dick in the big truck came out and left and another car parked where he had been, then someone came out and emptied the stall next to Player #1's car on the other side. Them came along player #2. He saw about the only available spot was next to Player #1 who now looked like he had parked like a dip ****. So Player #2 parks as close as he can to Player #1. He had room but after he and his friend eyed his parking job and basically high-fived each other it was obvious they were doing it on purpose. So it turns out Player #2 was pulling the dick move when they thought they were sticking it to the dick, who was the guy who really had no choice from the beginning. I didn't get to see how it played out in the end as then my wife came out and we left, but sometimes it isn't what you think it is.

I've recently parked behind a guy double-parked at a gas station with only 6 stalls (hick truck, of course). Me and another guy boxed in the St. George Shuttle for taking 3 stalls. We bull ****ted inside for about 15 minutes while the driver fumed. Normal people with a large vehicle or towing something will park along the edges, but he thinks he's special. If you see him on the road then watch out. The guy is a maniac driver.

I used to place shopping carts around people at grocery stores who park in the fire lane and make the traffic one way. Their reactions were pretty funny.

I like to stick things under the door handles of bad parkers, or spit a mouthful of taco on their door.

If I get the chance I make a gut remover from a bic pen and flatten all four tires. That one gives me special pleasure.

Nice. I've hocked loogies all over the driver side door handle before after some snobby older lady stole a spot from me at a Barnes & Noble once. I was gonna verbally lay into her but her little daughter was with her so I thought better and opted for the spit. Wish I would've seen her face when she came out.

See, player one isn't very good at the game. If he had played who can get closer with the big truck then he wouldn't have been out of position against who you're calling player 2. By not playing his strongest game against stupid truck guy he lost the game to player 2.

Don't hate the player. log, hate the game.

Player 1 had a choice.

Nice work.

How about when you go to get into the left turn lane as the solid yellow line ends and someone is already there because they crossed the yellow line. Gotta be on your game with the mirrors to look for the dive-bombers.

Fight for those personal liberties unless something bugs you. Then to hell with it. Well played.

Personal liberties?

I'm always in my parking stall. Not sure what your problem here is. The personal liberty to take two parking spaces?

If you look at my pet peeves 90% of them have to do with other people being inconsiderate. And by "inconsiderate" I don't mean they are being rude or mean or anything, I mean they are not considering the impact they are having on the people around them and as a result are doing things that put undue difficulties on others so that they can enjoy some minor convenience.

Player 1 should have parked in their single parking space. If they did that they wouldn't have had a problem. Do you not see that?

Is there any chance you were player 1? I'm sorry you suck at parking. With practice I'm sure you can get better.

Similar thing...when you go to merge onto the highway as the solid white line ends, and the guy in back of you is miraculously already in your blind spot to the left of you.

Wow, great observation. And not just your pet peeves but 90% of all the pet peeves mentioned in this thread.

That really is an excellent observation, nice catch Colton.

People who use the words "liberal" and "conservative" as if they're insults. How comically self-assured one can be.

Nothing will get me to stop reading faster than if someone says "all you liberals" or "more conservative BS." Hard to take that seriously and since I'm already pretty familiar with the liberal and conservative POV there is no value added to reading stuff from someone who just parrots talking points, be they liberal or conservative.

D.B.ags who write positive reviews for the biggest ******* driver on Utah's roads. I found this gem and have repped accordingly.

Meetings that take 90 minutes that should have taken 15. Because someone has an axe to grind with one particular person in the meeting, that doesn't even affect the rest of us there.

(May have already been posted)
When you are at a 4 way stop and the person who should be going, waves you forward.

I'm not sure why this irritates me so much, but maybe I just don't like telling me what to do, especially when there are clear sets of rules saying who should go.
